NINJA NEW YORK
A re-creation of a hidden 18th century Japanese Ninja village. One-of-a-kind, very entertaining dining experience combined with spectacular high-end contemporary Japanese cuisine. Dishes are created by very experienced Japanese chefs and served by our Ninja staff breaking new ground in service and Japanese cuisine.
Just went 4/28/10. Great decor, the ninja theme is good but it started to resemble Medieval Times. They did a great job decorating the place. The staff has magic tricks both with the food and with the service. These are the good parts...now the bad. The food was not that great. Our steak came out cold as did some other 'hot' dishes. I would give the food 2 stars. The next bad part was the costs. 3 people, not too much alcohol and our bill was 470 after tip. The worst part of it all was they are infested with fruit flies. And I do not mean just some flies, I mean swarms. Like in the summer when gnats swarm your head in the heat. It was gross. We had to pick them out of our food, drinks and off ourselves. So I give the decor and ambiance a 5 out of 5. Staff a 4 out of 5. Food a 2 out of 5 and an extra 1 out of 5 for the flies. Copious amounts of flies! all in all, if they fix the flies the place in, ehh, good to go to once. 2 out of 5 Stars I think is fair.
The food was definitley worth the price-y tag. We weren't disappointed in anything that we tried. The decor itself was different, and definitley a throwback as it promises. Our ninja, while very nice, professional and an excellent server, could have gotten more into character. We felt that the entertainment aspect left something to be desired. We felt that the hype was a bit more than the actual experience.
All in all, I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an excellent meal. Go early, before your reservation to walk about SOHO a bit, and to make sure you find it in time!
A refreshing dining experience!
Great atmosphere - great for a romantic date or a group of close friends. Unique dishes - presented like works of art. Dessert was so pretty you feel bad eating it. Amazing service - if there is a magician walking around, allow him to make you feel like a kid again! I can't wait to share this experience with others!!! Another thing not to miss is the sake sampler - YUMMY!
This restaurant was excelent. High quality food and large portions very friendly and relxed enviroment. Deicated staff with a good sense of humor. Average meal cost from 50 to 90$ but is well worth it. The place will leave a lasting impresion, makeing you want to come BACK FOR MORE!
You definitely have to expect to spend money here, but you can't stop with just 2-3 dishes. Great artistic and delicious japanese food. Make sure you order the ninja art dishes, and don't go just pick stuff which you can get anywhere. It's definitely a show, with food, a private magician show, and private rooms for everyone!
