Blackstone Steakhouse is a great choice whenever you're in the mood for hand selected prime dry aged steaks, the freshest seafood, raw bar, sushi bar, or delicious wood fired lobster. All served in an inviting, sophisticated atmosphere.
Best dining experience of my life -- VERY impressed with this place, from the waiter (who was an absolute professional), to the ambiance, to the food. Everything was first class, top of the line, and I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for the best of the best in dining on Long Island. Can't beat this place. Been dining out for over 30 years, and this place is #1 in my book.
Just got back from a private Thanksgiving dinner at Blackstone Steakhouse. We had a private room with a lot of people and the private dining experience itself was very nice. The food and service were good, from the hostess, to the valet, to the waitstaff in the private room. However, I must admit that the service at the restaurant bar left a bad taste in my mouth. We had about 60 people at our private dinner so ordering drinks via the waitstaff in the private room took some time. About halfway throught the night, I would just go up to the restaurant bar and order drinks directly from there. I told the bartenders that I was with the private party and they had no problem serving me. Our party was open bar, but of course I tipped cash as an appreciation of them serving me. However, once our private party was over, I was completely ignored at the bar. I stood at the bar, money in hand, for 20-30 minutes. In addition, I saw the bartender who had been serving me pull the other bartender aside, both look at me, and then proceed to whisper in front of me, as if I were looking for free drinks. They continued to ignore me. Again, 20 to 30 minutes went by. When I finally asked the bartender, I believe her name was Maria, if they were done serving the private party, she said yes. I said that's fine and I was willing to pay for the drinks. She seemed annoyed but took my order, served the drinks, and i paid. As pleasant as the private dinning event was, this experience at the bar was very disappoiting and disturbing, so much so, that I cannot believe that I am taking time out of the rest of my Thanksgiving celebration to write about this.
THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE....I MEAN HORRIBLE. THE HOSTESS LOOKED LIKE SHE CAME FROM A PUNK ROCK CONVENTION. OUR WAITRESS WAS REALLY OLD, AND VERY UN-PLEASANT LOOKING. THE FOOD WAS AHHHH...SHITY.....OVERALL VERY EXPENSIVE: DO NOT EAT HERE....F+++++ (NEVER AGAIN)
Just threw a party for 150 people and I can't say enough great things about Blackstone. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent and the staff was kind and accomodating! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!
The portions are overly generous and adequately prepared. NYC prices without NYC sophistication. The atmosphere is Vegas-ostentatious-vulgar.Like at a casino, the staff is too obviously well trained to maximize cash flow. I am willing and very able to part with large sums of money for a splendid dining experience, but at Blackstone I felt like I was being hustled and believe I was. Oh well, another lesson learned!
OK kids, Andy's here. Here is the deal on Blackstone's. Need a solid steak, great seafood, good bar, great wine list, nice enviornment? Get down to Blackstone's ASAP. Now, if you are a bit light in the wallet, forget it. While I think it is worth every cent, the place is not for everyone, all the time. Absolutely memorable meal - enjoy.
Not for the value oriented restuarant goer. Filet Mignon(14 oz) was cooked to perfection as it should be for $38. Lamb chops while not disappointing were nothing special and the one chicken dish on the menu was excellent. Both the octopus salad and the Garden Salad were hurt by the kitchen's over use of vinegar. Blackstone is best for business lunches or for big spending steak lovers who don't mind paying NY City prices in the middle of Long Island. Sushi is also commendable but I would suggest sushi lovers are better off elsewhere as sushi prices are high here as well. The entire menu is typical steakhouse fare with ample portions and everything is ala carte. If money is no issue Blackstone is a good choice otherwise you should look elsewhere.
