I've been to many Japanese restaurants during my travels, but this restaurant is in a league of its own. Master Sushi Chef Takashi Abe's dishes are a work of art, both in its presentation and in its flavor. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and top notch. All in all one of the best dining experiences me and my wife have had in years.
The food was fresh, very tasty. If you visit, then you should try the tuna with lotus chips, and the premium toro. Restuarant was fairly small, and they have a fancy full screen waterfall behind the bar. Staff was friendly, and price is rather expensive.
This is by far the worst Japanese restaurant I've ever been to.
The food is not bad but the service is terrible. You have to wait for 10+ minutes to get the waiter to refill your green tea. This is also the only Japanese restaurants I visited that has service worse than American restaurants. The waiter never asks you how you like the food and never give you the right suggestion. It takes forever to get your food and you only find out the size is too small when the food arrives. WIth this horrible service they charge you a mandatory 16% gratitude for parties with 6 or more. The above review must have been written by the owner. Also during our 3 hour visit to this restaurant there has been absolutely no asian guests. You can tell that the food is not authentic.
If you are gonna pay $60+ per person for a dinner, there are just too many places to go with better food and better service. Well if you are the rich people who want to pay big bucks and don't care about service. Go ahead.
Great quality sushi fish, but rice in it was below average and inconsistant. Rice on some of my sushi was hard, some was too sticky and pasty. I felt bad for the fish.
Some of their sushi, especially the ones on their 'daily special' menu were just as good as the ones served in good sushi restaurants in Japan or Nobu Manhattan. But again, that's considering fish only.
Service needs improvements as many previous reviews have commented.
I would say the price I paid was fair since some of the fish I had on my last visit was just superb. I hope their rice improves.
Took VIP from Japan. The atmosphere was very nice. Therefore, as a Japanese myself, I had a high expectency and I was very disappointed. First of all the lady who took the reservation had an attitude. She wasn't friendly and her tone was not nice at all. The foods are Ma-Ma (so-so in Eng.) and I think overcharged for the quantity and quality. Service was not good and they need to train their waiters/waitresses for better service. I need to try the place one more time to see if there is any improvement of their service.
Well, I went there again last week. Service was worse and foods wasn't as good as last time. I will not go there again. Sad, one JPN restaurant out from my lists.
