I am usually skeptical of indian restaurants in the SF city. But, this one really surprised me. The food is very nice. We tried the cheese dosa, which is never done in India. It turned out very good. The eggplant vegetarian dish was yummy. The dessert was not bad. I suspect it was frozen rasamalai. The place was super crowded and noisy on a saturday evening . The dinner cost us about $50 for two without drinks.
Dosa's menu appeals to anyone, including vegetarians and vegans. The menu has great variety, portions are large, and food is exceptionally delicious. Restaurant has nice ambiance, but very busy. Reservations are highly recommended on a Friday or Saturday evening. Desserts were great too!
This was a horrible restaurant, even if it looks all fancy. I would never eat there again. First of all it's never open when I go. Second of all, the line is horribly long. It takes forever to get your food. Third of all, the restaurant is so small that it barely fits about 15 people.
After dining at Dosa for the first time last weekend, I have to say I think Dosa is the Best Indian Restaurant I've been to, in the US. Outside of extensive dosai menu, the entree menu is slightly limited. But what they do serve, they serve in style. The surroundings, cocktails and food all make Dosa a good night out.
