This is by far the BEST soul food resturant ever. I was born in Orangeburg and spent the first 11 years of my life there, I could never forget the bbq ribs, smothered chicken, hash and rice, candied yams, pork chops, and not to mention their award winning bbq sauce. Every time I go to Orangeburg I just have to stop in and enjoy a good ole plate whatever lol everything is just that good!! Brown Derby cheers to you I wish we had somthing close to that in Augusta, Georgia.
As a native of Orangeberg, SC, I have to say that the Brown Derby is a historical landmark of our city. I am a 70's baby and they have been around since before I was born. If you like authentic southern food, like to be fed, and fed well...this is the place for you. I live in Georgia now and no trip home is complete without stopping by for a meal or at least dessert. And when I say dessert, I mean the sweet potato pie. It's sold by the (wide) slice, but anyone who's sampled their pie knows that you don't buy a slice...you pie the entire pie! You don't have to take my word for it. Go and try it out for yourself.
