Dooger's Seafood & Grill, Warrenton

I love Doogers. I eat here about once and week and this family-friendly restaurant has some of the best chowder around, the salmon is great and the oysters are wonderful. Salads come with bay shrimp on top. The prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean and the service is friendly and efficient. I'm glad they're now open for breakfast as it's great to get oysters and eggs, dover sole and eggs or crab benedict. Everything is fresh. It's not the fanciest restaurant around, but it's very clean and the atmosphere is attractive.

Ive been here a couple of times. My teenage daughter who is hard to please loved the clam chowder. I had the fettucini it was really good. The pasta wasn't overcooked. And it was a nice size portion. I had the choice of salad or pasta I chose the salad. It was great. Even came with fresh shrimp. We enjoyed it very much....

This Dooger's has a deal from 4 to 6PM in the bar, cheap food with a drink. Four of us tried it again yesterday for an early dinner and it came out about $8 each before tip for dinner and a drink. Dooger's is quite good anyway, but the happy hour food is an amazing deal.

While the food was pretty good (nothing to scream about), the portions were pathetic. I ordered the cod fish and chips (a whopping $9.50) and received 4 McDonald's McNuggets-sized chunks of fish. WTF?? I complained to the waitress and she brought me two more tiny pieces. MOST restaurants give you at least 2 LARGE pieces of fish. My friend ordered the halibut fish and chips and got the same, yet she had to pay $11.50!! This is what I would expect to pay in a fine restaurant, not a family restaurant. My husband orderd a cheeseburger and got a wax-paper thing piece of cheese on it, along with a BAG OF CHIPS instead of fries. The fries were the best part of my lunch. I ordered mac and cheese for my toddler and got out -of-the-box Kraft mac and cheese. I can make this at home! Don't bother with this overprice, overblown place.
