Two words: Food Porn. Truly a unique dining experience. Sat at Table One with kitchen view and had 9 course chefs menu with wine pairings. Service was impeccable, expedited marvelously. Told waiter to slow service down and the kitchen responded beautifully. It was a very long dinner (4 hours) but it was an anniversary and we were not in a rush. Standouts were definitely the sea urchin, salmon, cheese plate, and fois gras ravioli with truffles (ordered in addition to 9 course). Wine pairings were very well thought out. Perfect acidity to heavier dishes. Certainly wasn't cheap but definitely worth it. Chef Cimarusti sat with us and talked about the meal afterwards, very cool guy. There is no question they deserve their two stars.
Providence Restaurant lives up to all the hype!
Amazing dining experience....yes it’s expensive but worth it and we all loved it. A true dining experience. We were celebrating a 65th birthday party and the entire staff did everything they could to make the evening a huge success. The food is incredible, this is one of the best all time restaurants I have ever been to. Any section of the restaurant is great but ask for the center larger part of the restaurant.
The Chowder is the best and being from new England makes us an expert! WOW.......
The experience of dining at Providence transcends any that I have had in the Los Angeles area. The food is always astonishing not only for the expert blend of flavors but for the tasteful presentation. The atmosphere is elegant and the service is outstanding. Unlike many upscale restaurants in LA I am never disappointed when I dine here.
Most of the reviews raved about the food, albeit the service could snooty. Our experience was totally the opposite. We went on a Tuesday night. The service was fine, but the food was awful. We had eel risotto, salmon, and striped bass. The risotto was the best dish, but the strong tomato flavor competed with the eel and cheese. The salmon and striped bass were very disappointing. The bass was very salty and served medium rare even though the mention made no mention of this. The salmon was bland and lacked flavor. We expected much better from such well-reviewed restaurant.
