I ran a few errands and decide to order some food at this restaurant. When I have passed this place on previous occasions, I noticed that there were very few people inside, but the cafe next door had patrons spilling outside the door.
Given my affinity for Near and Far East Asian cuisine, I ordered a Keema Naan (naan with ground lamb and herbs) and the Palak Paneer dinner. The naan was baked perfectly and the lamb was finely ground and spiced well, hence there was not an overpowering taste of lamb in the bread. The curries and lentils (which came as sides) along with the chutney were very spicy, but quite enjoyable. If you have issues with spiciness, you can ask them for a milder version. The only disappoinment was the Palak Paneer, which had a film of orange grease (it must have separated on the way home). When it was mixed, it turned out to be acceptable, but there was a strong aftertaste of ginger, which was unusual for this dish.
The staff was very courteous and the food was rather labor intensive in nature. They worked assiduously to prepare the food and get it to me as expeditiously as possible. I would try this place again, but I may select something other than the Palak Paneer. The place is very clean and well-managed, except for the paucity of patrons. It's an excellent addition to the myriad of restaurants on Solano Avenue.
