This is another successful endeavor by the Blueplate Restaurant Company (no relation to H. W. Longfellow and his penciled ponderings!). In this grill, dark wood rules the interior, and the many windows allow for natural lighting. Dine on the patio and watch the Mississippi flow by, or inside, where the feisty waitresses are at your beck and call. An entree like the French Quarter Fettuccine should not be given a miss, unless you opt for the Gorgonzola Tamales. Enjoy the funky paintings as you wait for your meal to arrive.
After a horrible time parking went in & was told we could be seated right away inside. The manager went in front of us & sat his friends who had walked in behind us. the hostess took us to the table to find out the manager had given it away. Since he knew them by name I assumed it was typical provincial minnesota garbage (either that or #$%$ service - you can have bad service or mediocre food, not both). We walked out, never to return.
Swinginfish61: I think you probably are just one of those people who eats too much. The Longfellow has delicious, well thought out meals that hold a good balance. I prefer to eat a little less, and pay a little more for quality ingredients.
Don't like it or think it's too expensive, there's a McDonald's and a Dairy Queen right down the road that probably fit better within your budget.
Don't give a restaurant a bad score because you over eat.
Good food, great service but insane prices for what you get. A cup of soup, 2 sandwiches for lunch, with tip $40. I should of at least had a leftover bag, which i didn't. They need to reevaluate the economy and take care of their customers.
I like the eggs benedict for breakfast, but I have heard things about managers having relations with servers and then disposing of them when they wanted something new!!! Ladies AND GENTS, watch out for Jim, sleezy peezy.
They have a buffalo (yes, real buffalo) burger that is absolutely fantastic! Their mocha bread pudding is by far the best bread pudding I have ever tasted. They are also willing to share the recipes upon request. You can't much better than this!
This is truly a family bar and grill with lots of great menu items (for the kids too), a fun
atmosphere and wonderfully decorative decor. Seating is plentiful in this Mexican American establishment. Southwestern decor is everywhere, even the ...
This bar is not much to look at from the outside, but once inside it is worth the stop. Dan

Uptown's snazziest restaurant is yet another feather in the cap of the D'Amico culinary empire. The animated, noisy dining room
is flanked by a popular martini bar and a show kitchen. The place is constantly packed so call ahead. ...
