Fins Grill & Icehouse
Welcome to Fins Grill and Icehouse, the newest waterfront restaurant in Port Aransas. We offer indoor and outdoor dining, with the absolute best view of the harbor. Our restaurant and menus are not just family friendly, we have a little something for everyone, from a full bar to a game room for the kids.
normally don't complain about a restaurant because I don't expect things to be perfect. I can accept a few things to go wrong and don't mind especially if the restaurant tries to make it better. My experience at Fins Grill & Icehouse was so outrageous I had to comment. First after waiting almost an hour outside to get a table they seated us outside when there were tables inside. It took over an hour to get our appetizer. Our waiter only came by once in that hour to refill our drinks. The entire time we were harassed by swarms of hungry mosquitoes. Hour food came about a half hour after the appetizer and was served without plates! We had to wait for plates while our food got cold. I would think that after waiting and h0ur and a half for our food that plates and silverware could have been brought to our table during that time. When our food was finally served we had to eat in a hurry because the mosquitoes were so bad and we were all so hungry (I had 7 children with me). When I asked the waiter to let me speak to the manager she wouldn't come to my table. I had to hunt her down and when I found her she seemed indifferent and seemed not too concerned. She didn't try to make anything better. The food was good but the service the horrible. I will never return and will tell everyone I know not to go there!
this place is horreble
My family and i have been going to this restaurant for a few years now and i have to say we will no longer go to this restaurant . The last few times we were there we noticed the food and service have been on a down ward trend and when we visited this restaurant on 8/14/10 that was the last time we would eat here. Were put on a waiting list but because the hostess could not spell my name correctly a 30 min wait time turned in to a 1 hour wait time, all because my name was not spelled correctly then to make matters worse once we were finally seated we had no waiter for another 20 mins they forgot about us !!!! We had to go ask for one then we got or food and it was horrible it tasted very old and cold my family and i were treated like crap !!! we use to love this restaurant but no longer do and i will be filing complaints where ever i can !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First and last time customer. Five us went there for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. The place was empty and were seated outside at our request. Beers were ordered as we looked over the menu after 20 min. our beers arrived. We ordered and that also took some time. When we got our food the fried fish fillets were left over from lunch as they were dark brown, cold and dry. The hush puppies were raw in the middle, The fried shrimp were small with way to much breading and aslo barely warm. After sending the fish and hush puppies back i spoke with the Mgr on duty who appologized and offered a 10o/o discount and a free order of onion rings on our next visit. THERE WONT BE ONE!! $150.00 for lousy food and a smart ass mgr. To top it all off, after the waitress gave us the bill she actually told she didnt know why but the food had sucked for the past week or so. For the first time in my life I was speechless....
When we travel we like to eat at the local restaurants. Being the off season the lack of quality or caring was beyond comprehension.
We loved our stay on the island and will be back, Just not to this over priced, crappy food and non customer caring establishment. There are lots better places to eat!!!!!!!
Perhaps they should just become a Long John silvers........
After years of Fins being a family favorite, our last visit will be our LAST visit. It was HORRIBLE! The place was half empty and we got attitude from the hostess when we asked for a better table and it was downhill from there. Took over an hour to get our food, the order was incorrect, fiod was cold, and the crab cake sandwich was so salty it was inedible! My 1 year old son was left waiting for his food longer than any child can wait. The worst part is that we couldn't shake the feeling that it was intentional for complaining about the hostess! We will NEVER eat here again!
Upon entering was met by young man who introduced himself as the cook. We ask what was the best thing on the menu and he responded that the chicken strips was good. We replied that we came for seafood not chicken strips. He stated that he would not know about the seafood because he would not eat the stuff. We made a mistake in not leaving.
I ordered the shrimp and oyster platter for 21.99 and received four shrimp and four oysters (none larger than a quarter), hard ff and cold slaw that I usually enjoy which was un-eatable. When I asked the waitress about the portions she walked away. Will not ever return.
I don't know what these people are talking about. My Vacation to Port Aransas was AMAZING!! Only due to Fins. I had to wait 45 minutes in a waiting line, but all the wait was well worth the reward. Grilled Mahi & Shrimp Combo is delicious. The prices were a little high for my taste but then again i couldn't even finish my plate either. I will be back for many years to come.
By far the best seafood I have eaten ! Gotta give it up to the food ! But the Margaritas were tooo sweet to where you couldnt stand it. They need a new bartender or something becuase that was the worst Margarita I have ever had and Im a BIG fan of Margaritas so I try them everywhere I go ! The service was VERY SLOW and our waiter was not very good either. But I would recommend the food and just say BE PATIENT because the service is poor and YELL if you have to get your waiters attention !
