The food was Fabulous and the habatchi chef was fantastic. Kid friendly, family friendly. great place to have a drink, sushi, lunch. Perfect for a buisness dinner or family affair. kudos. My favorite place. Compared to Oki's in NP, RI. 10 times better.
OMG... this restaurant kicks ass.
The food - amazing. Traditional and new. The traditional was awesome. Flavorful, complex, a true culinary delight. The new has an italian spin. Holy hell, you wouldn't think that italian and japanese would blend well, it does. INCREDIBLE.. best dish is the Tartar!!
The enviornment - a feast for the eyes. The decor is sticky finger tempting. I have no idea where they got the artwork, but I want it. The restaurant has the sushi bar, a traditional bar/lounge, and of course the restaurant section. The earth colors blend and it gives you the feeling of calm and intimacy. Excellent place if you have a small brood or if you are on a date. The bars are separate from the lounge/sushi bar so it allows for both.
The staff - wow.. highly professional and customer service oriented. The chef came out and checked on our meal and told us his passion for complex flavors and other ideas he was working on. The staff is proud of their accomplishments and should be.
THIS PLACE ROCKS!!!
This is the simply the best sushi in the city. The service is first class, carol service rocks!! I've been going there for year. the fish is outstanding and the kalbi beef is excellent A+, and the menu has something for everyone. The prices are great, the sake is great, the casual atmosphere is great. There is nothing better, don't even bother trying to find something better.
I've been to several Japanese restaurants, both in RI and outside, and Ichiban is hands down the best. It may have a humble exterior, but the inside is gorgeous, with hand carved wood everywhere and wonderful decor. The owner Jimmy is so friendly and hospitable. Everyone there is so nice! And the food...I've been there so many times I've sampled most of their items. My faves are the fried rice, Korean BBQ Beef, and Miso Soup. I recommend this restaurant every chance I get. Go for an evening with friends or a loved one. You won't regret it!!
This wouldn't have been my first choice for going out to dinner but my other half insisted. To my surprise it was great. Service was excellant, food was different( i have never had this type of food before) but it was really good. As a matter of fact we are going back tonight.
