On the South end of Marco Island, just one block from the beach, Sasso's International Cuisine & Seafood offers guests a culinary tour of the world in a whimsical setting. Located in a renovated Mediterranean-style villa, guests dine indoors beneath authentic Murano chandeliers, or outdoors on the piazza beside the fountain. No one walks away from here hungry, as entrees of all international origins are accompanied by gourmet bread, soup or salad, fresh vegetables, and vermicelli rice. Try one of the house specialties, like Saltana Sea Food Curry, or splurge on the Valley of the Kings, a decedent dish of petit filet mignon, a king crab leg, and jumbo shrimp scampi, all atop sweet potato yucca mash. If you find yourself out after hours, Sasso's serves an abbreviated version of its menu from 10p until closing. With its popular location, diverse menu, and dedicated wait staff, Sasso's brings you the food from afar at the sunny, sandy Florida beach.
Brides DO NOT book your reception, rehearsal or other special meal with this venue!!! In the planning stages of my reception dinner I should have paid more attention to the red flags but unfortunately I did not and dismissed them as the coordinator being busy and stressed. I wish I would have given more regard for the red flags because unfortunately I was greatly disappointed and embarrassed by my wedding reception dinner selection. The food was OK. The servers were friendly and helpful but the service was VERY SLOW and my guests received incorrect meals, the groom even received the wrong meal, there was no regard for making he or I feel wanted and honored. The manager/owner presents herself as helpful, friendly and ready to make your day a success but in fact none of those things are true when it is actually showtime . The closer that we got to our event Marianne, owner/manager/event coordinator, became more and more difficult to work with and less and less helpful. Marianne also spoke poorly of our event to two different family members prior to the event and to some of our guests during the event. She also blamed my menu selections for the poor service and time to serve meals. Mind you we selected meals from her menu! Her behavior is inappropriate and unprofessional and if I would have been aware of how this event would turn out I would have NEVER booked an event with Marianne. Please take a big piece of advice from one bride to another, STAY AWAY FROM SASSO S!!!!
What a rip off! We went here on New Years Eve -- of course everywhere in town they had prefixed menus $75 PP - well fine, they can still produce good food right? WRONG! The crab cakes to start I don't believe were even cooked..just a round pile of mush & cold..did not even eat. Next course was probably the best - a salad. Main entree I had a small lobster tail and filet with garlic mashed potatos and asparagus. I asked for the filet Medium..came out well done, and the garlic mashed were so garlicy and salty you couldn't stand to eat them. Desserts came directly out of the freezer and were like frozen little bricks. We felt like we were totally ripped off for $170 it was by far the worst meal we have had in quite some time. Too bad, it looked like a cute restaurant!
I must say, last spring, my husband and I were visiting the island and I insisted we dine one night at a resturant that provides a romantic atmosphere. I was blown away by the wonderful food and equally wonderful surroundings this resturant had. Our waitress did a fantastic job. I was more than happy to pay the higher price for everything this special place did for us. We will be back!
