LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE ROSIE'S!!!!!!!!!! Just left there, so full. Got the chicken & beef fajitas for 2. They brought it out in about 7 minutes- hardly enough pre-din conversation- but then I noticed that they forgot the beef----I told em, the server MATT (mega props to my main man) and the manager came over, they were so apologetic(even tho it wasnt a big deal) apologized 20 times, and brought back a whole lotta beef! Then-after the meal, we doggie bagged it up, then they told us the meal was comped for their mistake!!! We tried to pay, begged them to let us pay, but they made us accept the free meal!!! I will go back every week of this summer!!! +++great atmosphere, the best food, and the best staff around. Best restaurant in Florence, by far.
I am not sure where these people are eating that are giving Rosie's a bad review because I haven't met anyone yet that did not love them. I have been there too many times to count and have never received bad food or service. The place is packed most of the time and people are willing to wait 30-45 minutes for a table. They have awesome fajitas with homemade tortillas, a Mexican Lasagna with a ton of cheese and fantastic margaritas. It is a little pricey for some I suppose. Prices are comparable to Chili's, Outback or Logan's. Great atmosphere, awesome service and good food!
I have been to Rosie's twice and I was not impressed either time. I love Mexican food and eat it on a regular basis and Rosie's is definately at the bottom of my list. It's also over priced. When I got out to eat I want great tasting food. I don't want it to taste like something I cooked at home.
The only reason I didn't rate it a one is because it was edible.
Although I did go to the resturant quiet frequently (due to its central location in downtown), the food is not worth the price. The cheesedip is virtually the only decent item on the menu. Meals are advertised at discount rates, but they do not run the specials when events occur in town (as to make up for revenue that they miss when they cannot draw in patrons due when special events are not occurring). I would not recommend dining at that establishment unless you desire atmosphere and care little for the quality of your meal.
Today is my first time at rosies and I am betting my last. Took them 10 minutes to even take the drink order. Then another 5 to being me some of the worst tea I have tasted. I could understand the wait if the place was full. Only 5 tables taken. They are priced higher than most if the other mexican places in the shoals. The food was ok. Tasted like it was nuked right from the freezer. Now that I have finished my meal I really don't think it was worth the money or the trip to come back.
Rosies was great at the begining with better than your average food, later the food started tasting almost like any other mexican place, we stopped going for a while only to return 2 years later to the same beautiful resturant, but also the same regular tasting food, and extreemly poor hospitality, Greeters seemed to have had poor attitudes and our waiter forgot to put our order in and never even told us. There are too many average Mexican Resturants in the area to have to be a burden to the staff at this place. For what they seem to try to do the prices are ok, but for what they actually do they are way over priced. To me Rosie's is just an ok imitation to Superior Grill of Birmingham, or Cucos of Montgomery When eating Mexican I will just be safe and stick with Casa. When asked for management they did take care of our issue, Id like to say thank you for that.
Love, love, LOVE the tamales at Rosie's, even drawing me to the Huntsville location long before one was opened in Florence. Cheese dip is super creamy, the beans are rich and thick instead of soupy, and everything tastes fresh and handmade. Kids love the ambiance, and it's fun for groups. The location is great for an easy stroll to walk off dinner, just one block from Wilson Park and at one end of lovely Court Street. One drawback: really tough to have a working lunch there amid the din of music and conversation. Overall, great food and great atmosphere.
