Summer of 08 my family and I went to Kidd's for the first time and it was great. The little one's loved the pirate and the food was really good, we went back again before we left. But when went this summer the food was terrible, the service was poor, and the pirate was no longer there. It was waste of money.
Tonight was our first night eating here and if you want all you can eat crab legs this is the place.Nice clusters and always on the bar. The rest of the food is good but i came there for one reason crab legs and sweet tea.
I will be back
I almost cry everytime I think of the money we wasted at this place. Anybody that would say their food was real seafood has never had real seafood. I've had better frozen fish sticks from walmart! Nearly 75 dollars for 3 of us and we left feeling jipped and disgusted. Wasted our time waiting and wasted our money digging through slop trying to find something decent to eat at the slop bar of a buffet. Don't waste your time or money, find a real seafood place to eat at or eat a McFish sandwich at McDonald's...believe me it is much better.
I usually make it down to the Destin,FL area a few times per year and frequent Captain Kidd's each time- it has gotten progressively worse during each visit. The most recent visit (last week) was the last straw. The food was horrible- probably was leftovers from the previous day, the place was not clean, the waitress was rude, and the place was poorly lit. Even the table we were sitting at was loose and coming apart. AND THE PRICES WERE OUTRAGEOUS!!! Nearly 30 bucks a pop for garbage..... I even had invited some guests and spoke highly of the place, only to be embarrassed by the terrible product and service. Bottom line, I have frequented that establishment for the last time and will let anyone coming to the area looking for seafood who will listen know what my experience has been with Captin Kidd's.
THIS PLACE IS A NO-GO. FOOD WAS COLD, FISH WAS CHEWY, SHRIMP WAS FROM A BAG, AND THE BREAD WAS TOO. 61 DOLLARS AND SOME CHANGE FOR TWO IS NOT A BAD PRICE I UNDERSTAND IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY FIND ONE ITEM YOU LIKE. I DIDNT AND I AM NOT A PICKY EATER. PLEASE DO NOT SUBJECT YOUR FAMILY TO CAPTAIN KIDDSYOURSELF. GO GRAB A WARM HAPPY MEAL I PROMISE YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF. NB
Grosssssssssssssss!!! The fried shrimp was like a really bad off brand of the shrimp that you can buy in the box at your grocery store...except it had been sitting under a light for hours. The meat in the crablegs was mushy...WAAAYYY over priced! Will never go back to this place. I crap you not..I read these reviews before we were there this year, and I thought..It can't be THAT bad. Boy was I wrong!!!! This place was terrible..Save your money!
Captain Kidd's is to seafood like Ryan's and Golden Corral are to steak. The crab legs and boiled shrimp are fine and if you want all you can eat of those, fine, but the fried foods are not well prepared.
this was one of the most reasonable places i have seen for the crab legs. 25.00 per person is not bad when i have to pay 5 to 6 dollars for 1/2 a crab at home. i can eat 5 or 6 full ones myself not to mention the wife and kid. i loved this place when we were there and i will be back in aug. as for rest of the food it was top notch.
