I'm sad to see any bad reviews. It's great to have a top notch local Korean BBQ restaurant in San Carlos. Service has always been good, but the food is first rate whether cooking at your table or for lunch. Reasonable value, but a complete meal.
I have been to this restaurant a few times. Whenever I went, service was terrible. There were only 10~15 people with 3 servers, and yet, I had to stand at the door for more than 15 minutes without being assisted. Servers would see me and pretend not seeing anyone. If the place was busy, I would understand. At least they could have responded to me 'to be waited', or 'will be helped soon'. I even asked if I can seat any empty table, but totally ignored.
My patient allowed me to bear with situation and order foods. Items I tried are not too bad, but too salty and sweet. Galbi was too sweet. I had to drink water to get rid of sweetness. Some kind of soup dish was way too salty that covered good flavor. Seafood pancake (jeon) was ok. Noodle dish was pretty good. Just need to give up on service. Whole time, I felt ignored (including asking question, getting more water to drink) through out dining experience. They look like nice to regular customers. I do not know how to become a regular (since I went there 3 times in 2 weeks and being ignored all the time).
I am not so sure if I would try this place again. Just not worth for extra expensive price for the dishes they offer.
My husband and I have gone to this restaurant on several occasions, and the quality of food has been consistent every time. It's a wonderful place for Korean tofu & BBQ, it's quiet and the food is great. We have experienced slow service on one/two occasions, but I believe they were a little short staff at the time. Otherwise, we're glad they opened on the Peninsula!
finally a Korean restaurant in the mid-pennisula area. nice deco and authentic tasting food! we'll definitely will go back! if you are a frequent and repeating customer, they will provide a set of personal chopsticks for you with your name on it in a nice wooden case. interesting!
