LOVE this place!! Have tried several items and all have been fantastic! I'm currently addicted to the spicy mixed fish sushi. which isn't really spicy at all. This is a must try whether you like sushi or hibachi. Quit driving by saying 'I'd like to try that place someday" (which I did for almost a whole year) try it and you won't be disappointed. I have now gotten 6 people other than myself HOOKED on Aoyama.

Loved this place for Sushi, Coming from the West Coast where Sushi is Popular, it was disappointing the nearest place was Buffalo. Loved the Resturant and Sushi Bar and the Food is Very Good and Prices are Resonable for the Sushi! Cant say enough good things, Hope this place lasts!

fantastic, We eat here a few times a year and never a dissapointment. Sometimes the Hibachi show is better than others, depending on your Chef. The dinning room is also good for lunch. Over all one of the best independant restaurants in Erie.

Aoyama is a place to be savored. Everytime our food has been unsurpassed. The prices are a hair high, but is definitely worth it for the flavor and quality of food. Took my son for his fifth b-day and he had a blast because the staff was tremendously accomadating. A must go-to!

I dont know what this guy below me is talking about, but i have been to sushi places all over the United States, including my home town, (Philadelphia) New York City, San Fransico, Pittsburgh and Erie. Oddly enough Aoyama is without a doubt my favoriate place to have sushi.Everytime i'm there i try something complelety new, and i havent found anything that wasnt absolutley amazing. It has the whole package, great food, decent prices, great setting, amazing staff, chefs, waitors, waitress's and the nicest bartenders in any city i've ever been too. If your looking for a unique dining experience, with class but alot of flare and passion, try Aoyama, you wont be dissapointed.

Disappointing
By Dick, 8/13/07
My wife and I have been sushi fans for many many years, and this restaurant is very disappointing to say the least. Folks unaccustomed to what excellent sushi tastes like and it's preparation and presentation would most likely get caught up in all the hoopla and say it was a good experience. Experienced sushi lovers will drive to Pittsburgh for sushi and savor every morsel. This restaurant is a *don't bother*.

DELIGHTFUL DINING EXPERIENCE!!!
By Christopher, 7/13/07
We have ate at Aoyama's several times and each time the food has been exceptional. We always sit at the Hibachi section where the chef prepares your food right in front of you with great flare. Each time is a different experience depending on the chef you get. Some chefs even fling shrimp at you to catch in your mouth!!! It's always great fun!!

Aoyama Japanese Restaurant - Erie, PA
By Larry, 2/13/07
A group of 9 of us went to Aoyama's .... we all had the hibachi, where the chef cooks right in front of you. It was my girlfriend's son's birthday, and this is where he wanted to go. Our chef was Louis, and Damion made sure that Louis got properly tuned up for his performance. Lotsa saki. I had some too. Never drank this stuff before, but it wasn't bad. Kinda tasted like tequila, at least the initial taste. So, our group varied in what they had: choices were steak, chicken, shrimp, salmon, & scallops. Along with soup & salad. It was all excellent, and Louis made it very entertaining. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to do a little more than just have a great meal.

A touch of class...
By HollyD, 11/26/06
This place is amazing, a gem hidden in the mall parking lot. It's a tad bit pricey for Erie. but not so expensive as to be unreachable. The decorations and staff are delightful, and the hibachi is excellent. Even my 5-yr-old brother loved it!!!
