Great Chinese Food with a bit of Mexican and a bit of Homestyle. Best Chinese in the area. Love the Mandarin Chicken and the sauteed Mushrooms. On the Mexican end, the quesadillas are great. The reviewer that commented on lack of Mexican cooks has never been there, if he had he'd have noticed that they have two Mexican cooks. At $8.00 for lunch (including drink and tax) this is a great value. I can't eat at Mickey D's for $8.00.
My whole family loves this place. Many weekends they beg me to take them there for the Grand Seafood Buffet. That's really a compliment since were much closer to Bluefield and they usually hate buffets.
Hands down the worst Chinese food I have ever had. IF you go here expect to be pretty much badgered to get the food bar/buffet ordeal. If you want to order off the menu you have to be firm and tell them upfront else they will try to pressure you into getting their awful buffet. Most of the time the buffet has food that has been sitting there for hours and has turned stale/crunchy/really horrid. The rice is 95% of the time overcooked. They also for some god awful reason put country style foods on the bar as well as pizza and even Mexican foods...yes you heard me a Chinese place with Mexican food. This would be really cool if it was actually cooked by a Mexican cook or someone with knowledge of country food...but it isn't so its worse than the Chinese food. Every time I have ate here I have had the stomach aches and the rushing to the bathroom to evacuate the toxic MSG they love to put in heavy droves into their foods. The only reason I am not giving this place 1 star is the the decor and the atmosphere (aside from the smell) is somewhat decent with flat screen TVs and nice looking tables. If you really want a quality Chinese restaurant in the area make the drive to Red-flower in Richlands. They have recently remolded the place and it looks sharp now and it is constantly packed due to the cheap prices and fast service. They make everything to order. They DO NOT go down the horrid buffet style route of Peking Chinese restaurant. AVOD HERE AT ALL COSTS!
Well hello to everyone,
And I have something to say about the Peking Resturant in Grundy,Va I ate there when it first opened up and boy let me tell you, the first time it opened when you walked in the front door's it smelt like a sewer and anyone can tell you it did, and I ate there and got sick and my family did too, and I know other's whom got sick too, So my wife and I waited several Mo's before we went back and tried it again, and the food tasted like someone cooked it in dirty sock's.
If you want to realy taste the best Peking food then go to the Peking Resturant in Pikeville KY, man you will see the differance in the Resturant and being in the same name, and owned by the same people,
Now if anyone of you people ever went there when it opened up you know it stunk to high heaven, if yall will tell the truth! The Redflower in Richlands Va is way better than Grundy's Peking Resturant, but they need to just up grade the building is all,
to who ever reads this Please try the Peking Resturant in Pikeville KY and then write a review and tell me the big differance in them.
I have eaten at a lot of Chinese Resturant's and this is the far worst Peking I have ever ate at, and I've been all over United States to several several Resturant's, This might make so people mad or whatever but like I said just try another Peking like Pikeville KY. Thank You
