USS Midway Museum, San Diego

A "must-do" if in the San Diego area. I spent 3 hours on board and could have definitely spent more time. The self-paced audio tour is really, really well done. The medical department was my favorite, as I am a former Corpsman. I am looking forward to visiting again and bringing friends and family.

I went on one of my first dates with my boyfriend here, its a fun atmoosphere, you can seee verything at your own pace. Great things to take pictures with, I would imagine it would be a ton of fun for little boys to see the planes on deck :o) Great time!

I had a great time viewing the Midway. The exhibits were very well done, the planes and other exhibits are as good as anything I saw at DC musuems. The volunteers are very knowlegable and fun to listen too. I also went to the USS Interpid in New York City, and thought the USS Midway was the best by far. One thing EVERYONE must try is the animated 3D capsule that makes it feel as though you are taking off and landing on a carrier. I got done and went right back on, well worth the money!!

Overall we enjoyed our visit of the Midway. One thing that really upset us was that the lady handing out headphones could not even speak decent english. We didn't understand a word she said. Come on folks, this is a famous American aircraft carrier. How about we have folks that can be understood. We did enjoy the remainder of our experience

I only been on one other boat and that was the U505 sub that my father help capures in WW2 which sets in the city of Chicago--and to have a brother that severid on the uss Midway ---plus having him with me wathing planes from the midway airport of Chicago was a booth--I miss them all

For a ship that sits in the mud by the stern as discovered in 2003 (provided by soundings of the bottom), a real treat. I must wonder if the screws are bent as a result. However, It is a must for any Navy enthusiast or tourist in the area.

This is a wonderful museum to visit. Very well organized. The mp3 players worked well with the children. Make sure you bring enough cash. They only take cash for the flight simulator and it cost $32 for 4 people. The picture at the end is also $20 cash. I hope they improve this in the future. You may pay with credit cards for entrance and food.

I went for an educational trip to this museum and i really had a good time..also the area around the museum can be lot's of fun.

I have always been keenly interested in navy ships, in particular the aircraft carriers. So, having the opportunity to tour an actual aircraft carrier was a dream come true! This is one of the few attractions in my travels that did not disappoint me in the end. Absolutely loved it!

As a former sailor I was allowed to see more of the ship! Very fun time, my family liked it also.
