i tested the beer sampler with my wife... not good beer at all (real german beer is much better), the interior is cold, the food average. i don´t no why some people said to me that you can get there a german dish. there was not one!
the building is nice but NO biergarden!!!!
so if you see it okay, if not you don`t missed anything.
I think anyone could appreciate a trip to Gella's Diner & Lb. Brewery Co. I don't drink, but my husband was wild about their Oatmeal Stout. Their brews are award winning. Meanwhile, the kids really enjoyed their Root Beer. They serve up quite a mix of meals and can be right for just about any budget. The best part is that their full menu plus daily/weekend specials can be found right on their website! The only complaints we've come up with is that the kids didn't like their mashed potatoes (claimed they were bland), and their Grilled Cheese Panini was underwhelming to me. However, I would come in again and again for their Sauerkraut Soup and my husband has loved every special he's ordered. I'm looking forward to going back more often and trying out the rest of the menu! Oh, and the kids meals are served in little cardboard cars! Such a hit with the youngsters.
Best place to eat in Hays. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and good food. I'm on business travel and we ate here twice this week. The pesto chicken is good for the low carber's and for the big and hearty you should try the meat loaf - it's HUGE!
I went there with my parents who were in town for the weekend and my mother was served a raw (still frozen in the middle) chicken fried steak. She of course sent it back and that is when we noticed the kitchen staff laughing at us and pointing (since you can see them from the dining area) we advised my mother to not eat ANYTHING they sent out and we all stoped eating as well when the cook approached our table and made a huge scene yelling at us. Was she just supposed to get sick eating raw meat? I dont think so, maybe he needs to learn how to cook. The manager seemed scared of him, so she hid while he made this embarrassment of us and himself.
Well, Let's see. Maybe they weren't prepared for the Shrine Bowl crowd, but...
My beer was Warm, my fries were Cold. The Server walked by the table 4 times after delivering the warm beer before bringing us ice water and finally taking our order. After all was said and done, the Brewben(rueben) was very good although slightly fatty. The Beerwurst was excellent.
Will we go back? well, it's a 2 hour drive, so I doubt it. We do go through there every now and then, but I doubt I would stop.
Place was very clean. I will give them credit for that.
