My Favorite Bar = Emma's
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/22/04
Emma's is by far my favorite bar, was a regular while I attended UW-RF and enjoy going back when possible. Good cheap drinks, good music and good people.
Layout:
The space is a long thin rectangle, bar goes most of the way to the back, row of tables & chairs on the opposite wall. 2 electronic plastic tip dart boards, 1 pool table, 2 TVs. Sign above the bar "YCJCYADITJB", might cost ya $1 to find out what it means :)
Prices:
Very Good Value! beer(~$1.25 12oz tap, pitcher is ~$4.50), mixed drinks & shots are also very reasonably priced. They also sell Off-Sale. They don't accept credit cards.
Selection:
On tap there are a few varietys of Leinies, bud & miller. Licquor selection is a bit better. Not the place to go for an obscure microbrew, but they have the major players represented.
Staff:
Gary, Heidi and the rest of the crew are friendly and skilled at the art of drink mixing.
Music:
The jukebox has a great selection, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash, Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Squirl Nut Zippers, Grateful Dead, Rage Against The Machine just to name a few.
Patrons:
Daytime the bar generally is serving the River Falls locals, older working crowd, weekend days some bikers, nights 10pm+ is frequented by students, good mixture of people, more of the art/theather/party people than football/baseball/frat type people.
Bonus:
They do cook pizza & pizza fries, but the real sweet deal is they will run over to Luigi's and place an order for you n Luigi's will come and deliver. Recommend the pizza, calzones & hogies.
