I feel as if I can render an accurate appraisal of the sushi at the Eastern Buffet at the Aiken Mall location in Aiken, South Carolina. My experience as a sushi connoisseur was started during a seven year period living in The Peoples Republic of China. As a writer and editing expert for medical scholars, I was invited to many sushi establishments. This was a start to the wonderful world of the Japanese sushi culture. I made many visits to Ichiban Sushi and Japanese Fusion Sushi, two sushi restaurants that enjoy a world reputation for fine sushi. The Tianhe District of Guangzhou, Guangdong was my home, as well as home to the most unique sushi in all of Asia.
The Eastern Buffet offers sushi that is prepared with pure art by a sushi master who seems to have a talent for making a near-pictorial rendition of the Japanese style of sushi. The presentation creates a desire to partake of this fine food. This is the best sushi I have experienced since my seven year stay in China and I can predict I will visit the Eastern Buffet for most of my restaurant visits. The staff is above average friendly and the owners always make each customer feel presidential. And if sushi is not your cup of tea, the Eastern Buffet offers many Chinese dishes that are colorful and delicious. I love all of them.
Excellent variety of food and nice seating. Suishi is my favorite dish and I love their choices. Even if you like southern cooking, you can be pleased here. The seafood is great, the salad bar is the biggest in town and the drinks are excellent. Ni Hao is the only restaurant in town (that I have been to) thaat can compete with it.
I do takeout from EB regularly and, for the most part, have been very satisfied with the quality of the food. On one occasion the chicken was kind of fatty and an egg-roll was greasy, but this was not the norm.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating and seem to be genuinly concerned about your order and satisfaction. I have dined-in too, and found that experience good as well.
I was talked into coming here the first time but now I don't want to go anywhere else when in Aiken. The food is just so good. The traditional Chinese food is great and the selection is tremendous. The seafood is my favorite and better than any other place I've found. I'm not into sushi but I enjoy choosing from the stir-fry ingredients and getting a grilled steak sometimes. Oh my, the desert bar is so so good and there's dip ice cream too. The atmosphere at the Eastern Buffet is warm, comfortable and visually pleasing. I just can't wait until my next shopping trip so I can get some more of those Salt & Pepper Fried Shrimp, my absolute favorite!
