I will preface my review by saying the last time I dined at Club 77 was 4 yrs ago. Since then the restaurant has changed hands at least once.
At my previous visit the relish tray was overfilled (almost too much) with carrots, celery, radishes & peppers, plus you got a cheese fondue. This time you got the choice of either. However for a table of 4 we got only one very modest relish 'tray' (2 radishes, 4 celery, 4 carrots, 4 black olives, ranch dressing cup & a cup of cheese). You would think that for a table of four they may bring out more trays.
The drinks at Club 77 were bigger then normal & poured well. The $7 pricetag for my Crown 7 would have been easier to swallow had the latest experience at Club 77 been better.
I had the Steak Diane, the demiglaze & mushroom sauce was great, but I ordered the steak medium rare...that was the rarest steak I have ever had. Adding insult to injury, I had ordered another loaf of white bread (sadly quite tasteless) & the waitress forgot about it until we were asking for the check.
As a frequent visitor to the Hayward Lakes area, I held Club 77 as the gold standard of supper clubs for it's quality, service & value. Needless to say 2 stars may be too generous this time around.
