Fun Factory, The, Franklin

My husband and I took our son here for his 2nd birthday. I should have known form the start things weren’t going to go well. When we walked in, the area to purchase the cards you have to use for all the rides and games etc. was closed and had a sign to purchase a game card go to the snack bar, which was just a couple steps away so no big deal. So I went over to the snack bar, but no one was there so I waited probably a minimum of 5 minuets till 2 teenage girls came out of the laser tag area across the way to assist me. Finally I though its about time to have fun with me family, boy was I wrong it took probably another 10 minuets and getting a manager to find a card that would scan. Then finally time to have fun… Wrong again! I had looked at their website online and read some reviews and though my son would have a blast. The website had said, " Tons of Fun for Toddlers - Even your littlest players can crank up their fun at The Fun Factory. They’ll love the foam factory, giant inflatable slide, carousel, children’s arcade games and more. You’ll love it too, because our Child’s Play area is separated from the rest of the action, which makes it easier for you to keep an eye on them." Well I thought a toddler was a 2 year old, but I must have been mistaken because he was not allowed in the foam factory, due to "not being old enough", the carousel was "down until further notice”. They did have a handful maybe 10 or so little arcade games/rides which the ones that were working properly he did enjoy. The only positive thing I can say is we ate at the Pizza Factory for dinner, which had great prices around $15 for the 3 of us for all you can eat pizza and salad. The pizza was very good and they kept it fresh and not sitting under the heater for long periods of time.

This place isn't that great if your kids don't like video games or are 3-5 years of age. It is aimed at the elementrey age group but there are things for everyone.

My boyfriend and I head up to Franklin twice a year, in the summer and the winter. We look the most forward to visiting the Fun Factory at least twice! The boiler room has THE BEST chicken caesar salad... and the best part? You can get a $10 gaming card with your meal! After eating a delicious (and reasonably priced) meal, we run around the factory playing many games. We especially enjoy milking "Bessie" the cow, and the all new Deal or No Deal. Fun Factory in the smokies also has go-karts, bowling, mini-golf, and much much more. You have to try it!!

I have a 7th grade son who really enjoys this place. We've been as a family twice, bored senseless, screaming children, overpriced go-carts, and lots of arcade games for preschool to adult-ish. The Boiler Room was too expensive for the quality & service we received but the pizza buffet was a pizza buffet with comfy booths to read a book in. We now regulary drop our child off with his friends while we grocery shop & eat a dinner in peace elsewhere. Preteen to early teen I'd say turn them loose with $25 in the arcade, laser tag, bowling, pizza buffet, mini golf, bumper cars & go enjoy a movie without them. *grins*

The factory has a little something for everyone no matter what your age is. There is video games for all ages, mini golf, laser tag, bowling, go carts, and places to eat when you need a break. It's a fun place to be and always something to do.
