National Shrine of Divine Mercy
This Marian shrine, devoted to the revelation of Divine Mercy and the prayer the Chaplet of Divine Mercy given to Sister Faustina in the early Twentieth Century, is a place of pilgrimage for the faithful.
The Church And the Little chapel of Saint Faustina was absolutly beautiful. The grounds are so beautiful and I had such a wonderful time. I cant waite to go again in the fall when the leaves are changing. I left there with such a good feeling. I am sure God was happy I was there too
What a great place to go to and just reflect and pray. I fee lso lucky to have found such a place . While there, I just felt that Jesus was so close. I just feel bad we didnt hear about the shrine sooner
I am so happy i took the ride up. I let there feeling something I never did before. I prayed, cried and laughed while praying in the grotto. The entire place just cries out peace and faith. Every Catholic should go
As the other review stated the grounds of the Shrine are peaceful and I think Catholics and non-Catholics alike would enjoy the Shrine. Best of all it is FREE! They have picnic tables and clean portable bathrooms also. Before or after you should stop by a few of the quaint shops in down town Stockbridge.
The church/chapel was so beautiful. I had seen pictures of it but in person was so amazed. I didn't know that there is a side chapel with a relic of St. Faustina, and even John Paul's round white cap (sorry, I can't think of the name). I believe there is also a relic of St. Perigrine. I have never seen such loving priests. It is a beautiful experience just to sit in the chapel alone and pray. Your heart will be touched.
As I walked around the grounds I decided to be more open and honest than I had ever been with Our lord. I then asked him with all my heart for his help and support. I let him know, I had questions about his love for me and even let him know I felt he had let me down. He knew I was sad and upset. Finally I humbled myself. In other words I opened my heart to him and he came in and explained everything. It is ok to be mad sometimes because he is forgiving and understands we are only human. I still have
many questions but i am sure that with the intercession of our Blessed Mother , questions will be answered. keep the faith thats all we have
I loved the Hospitality the people showed there. I am a Pagan, But Born and raised Catholic, and as a kid my grandparents would bring me here for services and to walk around the many spiritual points on the grounds that are publicly accessible, even as a Pagan I would still go back, mainly cause it is Peaceful and most of their Public areas are surrounded by Nature itself. There isn't anything I don't like about the place. I loved going there as a Kid and I am sure one day I will go back again just so I can bring back all the great memories I have of my grandparents and the time we spent there. They also have a great Gift Shop filled with many forms of Christian and Catholic Items, including Candles, statues and such, they also have stuff for those who Pass out the Eucharist, I know cause I bought a very nice Eucharist Holder for my grandfather since he was made a Eucharistic Minister while he was still alive and because my grandmother after awhile was not able to go to church any more.
(note to all: on this site if you wish to leave a review you must give a date of month and year you visited the shrine. Unfortunately the last time I was at the shrine it was back in June of 2001, the earliest year they provide is 2005. I wish for this site to have these years updated for Past Parishioners and fellow enthusiasts of this wonderful place who have been to the Shrine earlier than 2005.)
Faith and hope brought me to visit once before. It really is a lovely place to visit, pray and meditate. Once again faith and hope will bring me to visit again. I live 3 hours away but I am determined to visit again because I feel I feel the need to once again visit the Shrine. The feeling I get when visiting brings peace and tranquility to me and seems to strenghten my faith. As long as God gives me strength, I will continue to visit
