Haunted Footsteps Ghost Tour, Salem

What a fun walking tour. I went to Salem by myself and had so much fun. It was dark and misty and we didn't have much light and that set the stage. Our guide told stories and we saw many supposed Haunted houses and buildings. The old prison was creepy. I woul go again in a heartbeat. This is not a waste of time.

I wish I'd read the negative review before going on the ghost tour. The only reason to go on this ghost tour is if you are interested in becoming the next ghost buster. I always try to find the positives in situations and the only thing nice I can say about this tour is the guide seemed nice. That is it. I have been on several ghost tours throughout the years and they always tell stories about what happened in the different places long ago and tell about the ghost stories that have developed in connection to these stories throughout the year. Not this tour! We had one stop, at a cemetery, for over 30 minutes and our tour guide did not tell ONE, SINGLE story! All she did was talk about herself and experiences she has had in the cemetery. That was the whole tour. I think it the two hours she maybe told 3 stories. It was ridiculous. If they are interested in going on a ghost hunt then they need to advertise better! I could not be more DISAPPOINTED with this tour! Do NOT waste your money! Overall the city of Salem is one big tourist trap. Don't bother making a trip there, I promise you are not missing anything.

We were a group of 8 people and purchased tickets weeks ahead of time. They sold 60 tickets for this tour and the group was way too huge to stay together. Not to mention, Salem is jam-packed with other walking tours, so it was only 10 minutes in when our guide, who carried no identifier other than a trinket lantern that wasn't easily visible, was gone! We collided with 4 other tour groups and had instantly lost our own. When I went back to the office to explain the situation, they could not have been more rude!!!! When we called the owner after our vacation to get our tickets refunded, she rudely hung up and offered NO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!!!!! THIS COMPANY IS AWFUL!!!!!! They do not deserve anyone's business.

Hurricane Irene killed this tour -- not anyones fault. BUT the owner was down right rude when I asked what could be done. She hung up on me before I finished speaking the first time and when I called back she denied it and stuck to it's rain or shine and ended our call abruptly even though this clearly was not just a rain event. I wasn't asking for a refund just a little cooperation to participate when we can return to the area. I can see from the below reviews that it sucked anyway and she may have kept our money but what goes around comes around... I also want to mention that our hotel and Boston Duck tours were accommodating in making concessions due to the storm although it also was not their policy.

Pay no attention to the negative reviews for this your. I went with my daughter with Kelly as our guide and it was excellent. She went beyond the allotted time so we got a bit of bonus time. Very interesting and many "goose bump" moments. Excellent !

First of all they shouldn't do a tour on Halloween. Our tour guide was practically running instead of walking. Quite a few people didn't finish the tour because they were tired of running and there were a few that got seperated from the group and didn't finish the tour. You couldn't here here speak. I'm pretty pissed off about the whole thing. A HUGE waste money and time!!

This tour was pathetic. Absolute BS. They clearly just make stuff up. It's insulting. What a waste of money!!!!

Our first time in Salem. Love the little town. We took the Haunted footsteps tour and loved it. Out guide was great. She made it alot of fun. No spirits though.

We had a lot of fun on this tour. It is not a tour of the city (Take the trolley for that - we did that one, too!). It is not full of authentic history. It is a ghost tour, which is what people should expect when they sign up for it. We walked around the area just at dusk and after dark, led by the guide's lantern, and each stop held an interesting story of a "haunting." It was fun, and our guide was engaging. If you don't like ghost stories or tales of hauntings, this tour is probably not for you. But if you enjoy walking around old buildings and sites that have character, a good story, and possibly a ghost or two, then it's well worth it!

With all of the tour groups that are in and around the Salem area....I'm glad we picked the Haunted Footsteps tours. Lisa, our tour guide, a local gal, was absolutely wonderful. Just the right amount of humor and a great story teller. it was the highlight of our trip.
