Rude and Childish
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/20/06
My group of five, rented three canoes. It was a busy day and the manager seemed to have a hard time keeping up with all the traffic. Nevertheless things seemed to go smoothly. As we were directed to our canoes we were told the basic what to do's and where to go's, and off we went. We had a wonderfull time, we laughed at each other as we kept getting caught on all the rocks. We stopped on a large rock to have lunch and take in the atmosphere. However we completely forgot about the time. Who brings a watch or a cell on a river? We were two hours late getting back and we felt awful. We apologized up and down for our inconvenience. The man who was waiting was very nice to us and helped us laugh it off. We tiped him as best we could, it think it turned out to be 30 to 50 bucks. He admitted that because we left in such a large group they probably forgot to tell us what time they closed. When we got back to the start point, the first thing out of our mouths was how sorry we were. The manager was so rude to us, so condescending, I almost cried. We ran back to the car, it took us 5 min. to change our clothes, when The manager pulls up to our van gets out of his car, leans in and continues to berate us. When we tried again to explain he call us liars. I will admit that at that point I did get rude back, and threw him a parting gesture. I was outraged!!! I will NEVER go back there again! In all my experience dealing with the public, you NEVER verbally abuse your customers, especially over an honest mistake.
