I read the reviews of the 3 bedroom cabin on this site. I was terrified and it almost caused me anxiety that I had booked what sounded like a dreadful place. When I arrived I was very suprised. Clean sheets, towels, very large rooms and bathrooms. The park is wonderful and the Cabin was fine. If your looking for luxury go to Callaway.
This cabin was like renting a house for $120 a night, which is is amazing. The carpet is worn, but the place is huge! Also everything works. My only advice is bring your own cookware if your plan to use the kitchen. The pots where worn out and difficult to cook in.
Great location, I went with several others and it was a fantastic place to gather in the evening. High recommend.
I grew up vacationing here many years ago. Made it back up here 2 years ago. Lots has changed with population growth and technology, but it is still beautiful, peaceful and a nice old fashioned place to stay and relax. Coming in winter months makes you appreciate the woods, making a fire. Lots of fun for kids and adults.
The Roosevelt SP Stable Management is arrogant, rude and have no sense of customer service in deed, speech and attitude. Perhaps their actions were motivated by a deep chauvinistic attitude as our riding group were all women. Any visitors renting the facilities and bringing their horses should be aware the horse trailers parking FOR THEM is about a mile wawy from the stables. This creates a real problem for tacking up and security. The REAL business of the stables is providing rides with their horses and they consider the advertised stable service for visitors to be a bother. In our case, the right questions were asked before reservations were made and we were told outright lies. There were several horse safety issues resulting one paid & assigned stall NOT being used. There were a goat and a sheep roaming untethered in the horse stables. The trails are rocky, showing little maintenance, and terrain mostly unremarkable. Restriction on visiting horses abound. The Roosevelt SP Rangers were not surprised with our complaints or interested in assisting our problems. I recommend any horse people take their business elswhere.
Hard Labor SP offers much, much more to riders in stables, value, trails and stable management attitude.
The cabin was very clean and had everything that we needed, towels, blankets, kitchen supplies. We had to bring out own firewood or gather some from outside. There was no tv in the cabin but that is what we wanted. We did not get to explore much of the park but the lake was pretty and had geese and ducks. We saw a deer while we were driving.
Very close to Callaway Gardens and great price.
