Peachtree Mall, Columbus

I am so angry! I am 48 years old and have just experienced humilation beyond anything that I have ever experienced brought forth by the actions of a mall cop at Peachtree Mall...all over my childs t-shirt. I took my daughter out to Peachtree tonight after work to reward her for her grades on her report card and the fact that she has been doing what she has been asked to do around the house by buying her a pair of sneakers she wanted at Payless. What started out as a fun little outing turned very upsetting. As we went down the hall from the back mall entrance we were chased down by a mall cop as we entered the main mall across from Payless Shoe source, who told me that my daugher had to go to remove her shirt or turn her shirt inside out because it had the following saying on the back "just because we were make up does not mean we can not kick your ass"...keep in mind that this is an old tshirt that she purchased at Peachtree mall from hot topic, and that the word "ass" is faded and at the bottom of her shirt. I told him, "you mean she can buy it here, but she can not wear it here" he says, "Yes, it is like liquor you can buy it at the store, but you can not drink it there. Comparing a tshirt to hard liquor, REALLY? Now to get to the bathroom, we would have to go down passed our destination to the food court and then to the bathroom, so I told my daughter, lets just grab your shoes and leave because I do not want any trouble. Our trip would have taken 10 mins tops, do you believe this man brings reinforcements to Payless and comes into the store while I am in the middle of a making the purchase, and tells us to Leave the premises, I said, I will as soon as I am finished...he then proceeds to scream at me NO YOU WILL DO IT NOW" causing the entire store to look at me and my child, we were then escorted out of the mall like hardened criminals. We did not steal anything, we did not destroy property, we did not even get rude with this man and he treated us like we had broken the ultimate law. No where at that mall is a dress code posted, no where! The mall is in danger of bankruptcy and this is how they treat their customers! I will be filing a formal complaint and I will not let this rest. I can not help but wonder how this man would have treated my child if she had not been with me but with her friends or her sister if he treated us this badly. And what was this pervert doing looking at my childs butt anyway to see the word ASS in the first place! No I will not let this go!

I go dressed like a punk or a goth every time I'm at the mall so it was definetly not the attire. her skort may have been short enough that they could see things that small hildren shouldnt see. the mall security is strict on dress code during the holidays.

my 20 year -old daughter was with a group of friends on christmas eve and they were dressed in scene/punk style clothes.Ten minutes into their mall trip they were approched by security who claimed my daughter's skirt was too short.First of all it was a skort with the built in shorts,second of all they were quite rude and would not even let her explain that this was a skort.Needless to say these kids were asked to leave after mall security called the police.For a place that blatantly displays sexual imagery i.e.victoria secret window dressing,posters of nude women{fye,spencers}I thought this was rude and very discriminitory.Some of the stores in the mall itself cater to this type of clothing.You can buy it but you can't wear it there?Needless to say,their christmas shopping trip was ruined,I do not recommend this mall,especially to girls who like to dress trendy!!!!!

OK the Peachtree Mall in Columbus is great. Columbus isn't that big of a city so if you want a variety of clothes then go to ATL or somewhere else. I live here and love it. Some of the stores will ask you if you are military because Columbus is right by Ft. Benning so if they ask just say yes or no. It's only for discounts. We have plenty of military family thats the purpose for asking. They have clothes for old people and younger. Lots of shoes from Dillards, Macys, Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker and MUCH MORE! Clothes are everywhere like Aeropastle, Hollister, American Outfitters, Macys, Dillards, Charlotte Russe, and the list goes on. There are are nail and hair salons, phone services (Verizon, Sprint, all others), all kinds of vendors like massages and more. Food is good. They have pizzeria, chick fil a, chinese, japanese, everything it varies they have smoothies, cookie shops. YUMMY! It is worth going to hang out, shop of course, and go out to eat. Its really good. we have another mall the Strip Mall more shops but its in the open not closed like PEachtree. Locals love both.

I bought a watch from this store and along with it being BROKEN they did not give me the watch manual. Also, why is the first question out of a salespersons mouth asking if I am in the military?

My family and I used to live in Ft. Benning and we loved going to Peachtree Mall. It may not have all of the things that some of the malls in Atlanta have, but it is a good place to go that is not out of the way. The shops there are good for the young and the old. They have something for everyone. My daughters and I had our hair services done at J C Penney. I highly recommend them. Also, the mall had different activities there such as the fashions shows they had for the spring and back to school. I really miss Columbus and hopefully my husband and I will go back there when he retires. The people there are friendly (you may have a few rude ones here and there)and there is much to see and do.

I feel the customer service there tonight was very lousy. The cashier wasnt helpful when I asked her about cards and she forgot to give me back my debit card. Now I'm stressed...

this mall is terrible!! they have the same stuff every week i go in there. it takes a while before new "decent" looking stuff comes out. i wouldnt recommend anyone shopping here. theres only one mall here in columbus, so in that being said EVERYONE HAS THE SAME CLOTHES!!

I love peachtree mall,its awesome.I love the stores,my fav's are Wire-up,claire's,afterthought's,payless,the body shop,rave,and charlotte russe.I recommend it!

The mall is actually pretty nice, being that it is the only mall in the area. The closest mall to Columbus other than Peachtree is either in Atlanta (which is a hour and a half away),or Alabama. It' s pretty decent though. Could use more stores geared toward younger people instead of catering to the older crowd. It's a great place to just hang out though!!!
