Cannon Brew Pub, The, Columbus

I love the Cannon. The service is good and te food is tasty. Due to higher prices I don't eat there often but Ienjoy myself when I do. People that get bad service (as commented below) are probably just th epeople you see walking into stores demading everything be perfect nd all about hemslves.

The thing that I like about the Cannon is that its a family. You can be either an employee or a customer and everyone makes you feel like you are part of a huge family regardless of where you come from or where you are going. There food is resonably priced and there is alot of it. I will always have a place in my heart for the Cannon Brewpub. Love you guys!!! R.I.P. jim Newman.

SECOND POSTING...DON'T REMOVE OR I WILL MAKE A PERSONAL CALL TO THE HEALTH DEPT MYSELF! My daughter and I went to Cannon Brew in April 2008. The smell was awful but took into consideration that its an old building. I can take bad service, incorrect food order, undercooked food and more however, one thing I cannot stand is when your meat is bleeding red and you take a bite out of your meat, you tell your waitress and she said they will cook us a "new" one. She came back and told us we were given the wrong order and my daughter's meat will be finished in a few minutes. In a few short minutes (took us 30-45 minutes to get our food in the first place) our waitress came with the meat and my daughter looked at her meat and found where she had taken a bite and what we discovered is they did not cook her "new" one they took that same meat and cooked it on the same grill along with other customer's food order, YUCK! Thought this was against health regulations!! Someone from health department needs to conduct an uncover inspection. Was so disappointed. We did not eat our entree we were to afraid. I sent the following letter to The Cannon. Have posted this here before only to find it has been removed with all of the other negative comments. I dined at the Cannon Brew Pub Sunday, March 9th. A friend and I arrived at 9pm and inquired as to when the restaurant would close, at which point we were informed that it would close at 10pm. We decided to go ahead and stay. There was only one other table seated in the restaurant. I ordered the Tiger Burger and my friend ordered the Bama Burger. It took more than 20 minutes to receive our food, which was warm at best. My burger was missing bacon and my friend’s burger was missing the onion straws but had bacon. I went up to the bar and spoke with the bartender, asking to speak to the manager. She asked if everything was ok and I told her about how both orders were inaccurate. She informed me that the kitchen had been making mistakes all evening and called the manager. Five minutes later the manager finally arrived to the table and we informed him of the errors. He apologized and then brought the onion straws for the Bama burger. He then made excuses for the kitchen, stating that at this time in the evening the kitchen staff start to “wind down and make mistakes”. As a customer, I am not paying for excuses, I am paying for service and my meal. My expectation was that the manager would offer goodwill by going above and beyond correcting the issue to show his sincerity toward correcting the mistakes and delay that took place. I decided to write this notice after hearing friend’s stories over the last couple of days. The Cannon has great potential; it has a great atmosphere but many of us will not be returning due to the lack of service and the poor quality of food. Can't wait for next weekend!!! Lots of people, lots of beer, great wings, but it was quiet enough to be able to hear yourself think and have a conversation.

Had a great time and was glad I went. Am planning on making a return trip. If you like beer, I would highly suggest that you add this to your list of stops.

One of the best places I have ever been to!! The food is great, the service is great, the beer is great. Home brewed beers!!! YUM
