Threats to be arrested if use Soccer field at Petty Park.
My daughter has been to Petty Field, and has been threatened to have the police called and her soccer Team arrested for being there. There are signs posted on the soccer field that if anyone is there without permission they will be arrested. There are no signs at the baseball. A guy named Dakota told both my husband and I that that the soccer field is reserved for overflow of the Football and baseball teams. We told him that we pay taxes in murray county to help pay for these parks, and Dakota came back with"I pay taxes too, but I can't go hop on a firetruck whenever I feel the urge. Tell me how intelligent that was please? I called the rec department a week and a half ago and still no one has called me back. These kids have not a lot to do in Murray County as it is, so you tell me why they can't use the soccer field at Petty without being threatened to be arrested? We live 5 mins from Petty field, but both my kids have to drive to Dalton to use a soccer field. Can someone tell me why that is? All soccer fields in Dalton don't have signs posted threatening the kids to be arrested if they play there. Why in Murray County? Someone answer me why baseball and football are more important than Soccer?
