Great Campground..A must!!!
By none, 08/21/09
we just spent 5 days in Vogel and it was great, even a couple of beras were running around the campground. Park rangers were trying to catch them. My only complain is they need a bigger sign at the park which say " camping entrance" or direct you to turn into the campground. Myself and my family higly recommend this park. Lots of activities to do and having an store inside the park works great. So, going camping? try Vogel because is a great park!!!!

Lake Needs Help* yipes!
By KellieB, 09/24/06
Lake does need help. Needs a good cleaning was there 2 times since June.... we caught zero at end of June and this past week 9-18-06. There was trash in lake and too much grass that makes fishing hard. I saw no trout at all in Wolf Creek. We did take look at camping area looked okay and we may go back for that but fish eleswhere. Great location for the AT and trails near by. Helton creek falls are close but not that big of a deal. High Shoals off 180 and 75 area in Swallow Creek area better. Go 180 to 348 to Dick creek Falls great view and bears. DeSoto falls are south of park quick hike okay area to camp. Vogel is part of Blood Mtn that has a lot of history go up road to that area to hike it get info where etc. Vogel is a small park, I have seen better state parks. Cabins are a good price no TV....( down the road on 19/129. Pappy's to tourist shop, fudge, popcron, icecream and Suzzane's on the river, great view while you eat of river and the Ruben was very good this past week.

great outdoors
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/06
I really enjoy the atmosphere of Vogel. I love all the picnic areas with trees and creeks surrounding the area. I enjoy swimming at the lake but the last time I was there the water seemed a little trashy ie. lots of twigs and cigerette butts at the beachy shoreline.
