Zoo World Zoological and Botanical Park, Panama City Beach

Okay, first of all: YOU'RE ON VACATION! Try to have a good time and quit worrying what everything costs! If you couldn't afford to leave home, why DID you? Now to business. This Zoo has a remarkable variety of animals for it's size. Before you go nuts about their keeping, the State of Florida has rigorous standards that protect all of them from abuse. This is NOT the roadside menagerie of the 50's and 60's. Although the giraffe decamped for greener pastures (and he WAs a crowd-pleaser!) you'll still enjoy the visit, which takes about 3-5 hours. I recommend it!

Zooworld is alot more then you would think. After doing some talking to the staff I found out zooworld has been around about 20 years. For any one that knows 20 years of saltwater can do some damage. I found the zoo to be clean and all the staff to be helpful When first entering you might think the price is a little stiff. I did but I was wrong well worth the price. The cages seem small but after checking somethings on line I found that cat can sleep 20 hours a day. Who know? If you really want to enjoy Zooworld talk to the staff and find out all you can they are very helpful. The more you know the more fun you will have. The shows are great. There are 6 shows a day. the snack bar prices are great.They are doing alot to improve the zoo and keep it up for families to enjoy. Did You know they are non-profit. It has got to be hard to feed and keep things up for the zoo. I loved going and will go every year for here on out. I would like to thank the staff at zooworld for every thing

I visited with family and spent the mornin at the zoo. I tried to get information about a specific animal from the curator and he had no idea. This animal was at HIS zoo. The rats are getting better but they are all over the animal cages and eating their food. Staff was friendly enough but ALOT of animals have died from wierd sicknesses (I was told that by 2 animal handlers working) since i was there a year ago.

I am not suprised with the mixed reviews on ZooWorld. I live in PCB and have visited ZooWorld twice. After reading the reviews, I realized that I did take one thing for granted when I visited the zoo... you do get to stand quite close to the animals & get a really good look at them. You don't have to search for an animal- if it's in the cage, you will see it. The reason for that, however is b/c the cages are SO small! It seems a little cruel for the animals. The entire area is nice and shaded and they have a great playground that my 2 year old loves. It's also very laid-back... you can take your own water in & you don't have to be "searched" before you enter. That being said, I am a fan of bigger zoos where I get more for my money. This zoo is overpriced, but so is everything else in PCB. If you have a free afternoon & want a break from the beach you might as well spend that extra money on the zoo rather than a round on the go-cart track. They do really have a large collection of animals for such a small zoo. It's a great place to start with small children b/c you can be in and out before naptime!

My husband and i stopped here while on our honeymoon, and we loved it!! It was so much fun and cheap for what we got!! We got to pet wolves! It was great it was hot outside but the place is covered with trees so it was so comfortable walking through!! We have told everybody about it since we got back!!!

Ok,mostly Parrots,staff was friendly enough.Admission of $15 was alittle high for a small zoo.

Trying to decide where to go in Panama City Beach I chose to visit the zoo despite some negative ratings. I have been to many zoos where you walk on hot concrete and gaze at the animals from a distance. At Zooworld I loved the ability to get close to the animals and communicate with them. I much prefer the intimate feeling here. I use a wheelchair and everything accessible except the giraffe platform (but I fed him inside).

Zooworld was actually a little bit better than I expected. It doesn't look like much from the road, but they do have a lot of animals. My 3 year old loved it, and we stayed for several hours. I didn't like how the animals were kept in very small cages and most of the park was old and run-down. But the trainers appeared to be very knowledgable and they seemed to truly love the animals. And it was neat that they let you get so close to the dangerous animals such as the lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!). Don't expect too much, and you'll enjoy it.

I have been with several different classes over the years on field trips. The place has improved a lot since some of the reviews were written. We who live here enjoy Zoo World. For most of our kids this may the only zoo they see in their life time. (Sad but true.) I think they have a great variety of animals and very friendly and helpful staff. We have never been disappointed on our field trips. I like it because it is little and the children can explore on their own because it isn't a very large place. We love feeding the animals. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

this is a little pricey for no more than they have. they have lots of animals that you will not see they are not out alot of times. have been 3 times throughout the years. last visit was not very good. Dirty, no animals were let out for you to see. Not worth the high price and not very big. can do the whole place in less than an hour.
