The young girl working the beach cabana was rude and not very helpful. If she could be a little more friendly and explain things then she might be more business. We did let our sons ages 9 and 15 ride the banana boat. She did not explain anything except to "put on these life jackets and wait out in the water." The guy driving the jet ski pulling the banana boat was VERY RUDE. He did not want to take time to explain how to hold on to my boys which becomes a safety concern. He called the STUPID and then pulled them around the ocean without even looking back at them. I did not realize he would have been that haphazard or I would have rode with them or better yet..NOT let them ride at all. Hint: go buy your tickets at the booth across from Captain Anderson's. The guys there was very nice and helpful and cheaper and shuttle from there to parasail but you still have to deal with the beach people if you want the banana boat.
Staff at place was unfriendly and no knowledge about what was happening
No one could give us a weight limit (one said 300, one said 450 and one said 550)
Guy told us the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour and we waited 2 1/2 hours
Not organized or structured at all
Beautiful view once you get up to parasail
The staff on the boat was friendly
Every year we come to PCB with family and friends - we love going to Shell Island for a half day excursion. This time we used Adventures at Sea for our rental because it was advertised heavily in the local booklets you see everywhere. What a huge disappointment!!! We're not too hard to please but these boats and jet skis are the worst I've seen in town. There was another review that mentioned that the boats all seem to need maintenance, ours was the same. First there was no gas in the boat so they asked us to gonget it at the Marina on the other side of the bridge. Ok, I'll do that I thought - what the heck. Then once we got through the no wake zone the boat barely moved. We've rented a lot of these over the years and all the other boats went at least 5 times faster. It took forever to get tomshell island. We even went tonthe least distant place because the boat was so slow. Also, there was no safety gate at the front, no ladder for getting in and out and the boat was dirty. When we got back to the dock (they didn't help at all when bringing it back to the dock) we notified them ofnthe boats performance and it didn't seem they cared at all.

They were very friendly, first we went out to swim with the dolphins, and that in itself was great, then over to a beach for a couple of hours to walk and look for shells and then went back and got on another boat and went parasailing. That was wonderful, a perfect day. Water was warm, Boat crew was friendly, knew what they were doing. Our 8 year old grandduaghter went parasailing too, and loved it. A memory she will never forget and wants to go back. As soon as her feet hit the boat, she wanted to go back up. Highly recommend it. Note: If there is a red flag flying on the beach, I wouldn't go out to sea!
Went to book our parasailing trip on the beach outside of our hotel, Boardwalk Beach Hotel, and tried to use our $30.00 off coupon the Adven at Sea gave to hotels front desk and the guy refused to accept it unless we bought the most expensive package. Not only was the guy rude but he appeared to be on some type of speed by the way he was talking and acting. From the looks of his teeth he had been doing whatever it was for quite some time. ANYWAY, he booked us and told us to come back in 30 minutes. We went to our room and came back down ready to go when he very rudely yelled at us that they had been looking for us and that we missed our ride and would have to wait another 45 mintues. After that he went on to tell us repeatedly that when we messed up he was the one to get in trouble by the "captain". After waiting 45 minutes for our ride to the boat, me, my husband, my 12 yr old and my 7 yr old son were in our life jackets standing by the banana boat that was to take us to the boat when the same guy came up to us and said accusingly that we had only paid for 3 people and we had 4 in our group. I told him I knew that and he was just riding on the boat with us. He saw all 4 of for the past hour and 15 minutes and I asked why he was just then saying something. He told us we should have told him and that the "captain" was going to be mad. He then offered to watch my 7 yr old, the same guy who was all jacked up on something. I told him no and that we were on vacation and we were staying together. NO one in their right mind would leave their child alone with this guy. ANYWAY, so here we are having been scolded twice by the same guy and terrified of this unknown "captain" that everyone was so afraid of we asked for our money back. There was no way I was riding off into the ocean with some guy everyone was afraid of and that we had already been told we ticked off. All I could picture was this guy making our $240.00 parasailing trip a nightmare. By the way if you work for Adven at sea it is best to ask the party who is paying how many people are with them both riding on the boat whether they are parasailing or not! We very clearly told the guy my youngest wasnt parasailing, we did not however say we were leaving him alone on the beach to fend for himself....DUH!!!HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
Only one negative and that was our tour guide on the jet ski dolphin tour. Not sure what his name was (and best be glad I didn't catch it) but was very rude. Spent a whole 2 mins giving instructions before leaving out. He was more interested in the young (maybe 17yr old) girls that came back for a second round. At more than one point he was so far ahead that we couldn't see him (or the girls he was with). When we seen the dolphins he held the girls' jet ski to keep it close while they swam with them. When I got off mine he YELLED (not exaggerating) at me to get my ski. How was I to know that this wasn't his job and that he wasn't going to give me the same treatment?? Afterall, there was nothing said in his short instruction about this. He proceeded to tell me that if my ski hit the rocks (that was there, but not close) I would have a $5,000 tab when I got back. But enough about the negative because outside of this... the service, staff, and price was exceptional! We booked parasailing and the boat dolphin tour as well and I gotta say Keith (manager) took real good care of us. Craig (boat capt) was awesome and made our tour a blast!
Everything was great. Jet skis were in good condition. We were given clear instructions prior to departure. Got to see dolphins and look for shells. Tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. Best price in Panama City for jet skis.
We rented a pontoon boat for the afternoon and went out to shell island. They gave us a map and showed us where the dolphins like to hang out. The boat was in great condition and the staff was so nice. I am going to recommend Adventures at Sea to all of our friends!
We had parasailed with them the year before and it was AWESOME so we decided to use them for our pontoon ride this year.
We have been coming to Panama City for years and always wished we had a boat so we could actually get in the water and go exploring Shell Island. We had heard it was a local favorite, but just didn't know how to get there. Last summer we rented a boat from Adventures at Sea and WOW! It was an incredible day. My kids loved it and can't wait to go back! We stopped several times to watch the dolphin swim right along side the boat! We brought a cooler and packed a lunch! It was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip! We rented the boat for all day, but could have rented it for 1/2 day as well. The people were so nice again last year and this year we hope to try the jet skis!
Can't Wait to be back in PCB!
