Blue Dolphin Tours
If you've always wanted to swim with Dolphins up-close-and-personal, this is your chance. Blue Dolphin Tours specializes in small tours of only 6 people at most that let visitors snorkel the Florida waters and greet the wild Bottle-Nosed Dolphins in their natural habitat. Specially designed boats disturb the Dolphins as little as possible, ensuring that your interaction is peaceful and pleasurable. Although all snorkel gear is included, it is recommended that you bring a small cooler with water and other drinks along. Reservations are required, and it is recommended that for holidays and other busy weekends you make them a couple weeks in advance. Rates are $49 per person or $249 to have the boat for your party only. Don't forget to ask about their special extended tours!
THIS WAS OUR FIRST TRIP TO PCB AND THIS WAS BY FAR THE MOST FUN WE HAD. THE TOUR WAS WELL DESIGNED AND THE STAFF WERE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE DOING THIS AGAIN NEXT YEAR AND MAYBE EVEN AGAIN BEFORE WE LEAVE
We were lucky to encounter a very playful dolphin who was so up close & personal, we got a little scared at first, but got back in and had an amazing experience. We also went to the flats & saw an ecology we'd never seen before. The boat was perfect, with shade and plenty of space. We highly recommend! (Tuckers from Atlanta)
Captain Wes was amazing! He knew exactly how to entertain our family of 5 on our Dolphin Tour! He didn't want our tour to be boring, so he took us out to see an alligator (too bad we didn't find him), around shell island, to the dolphin site area which was over crowded by other tours so we left to do some snorkeling in the beautiful clear water, to a sunken boat, then back to the dolphin area when no one was around and we had the best dolphin encounter imaginable! Our family was up close and personal, able to pet and swim with an adult, wild dolphin!! Not to mention, Wes likes to go FAST!! The teens and my 8 yr old daughter loved it!! Thanks Wes for memories of a lifetime!!

I paid $200 for myself and my kids to "swim" with the dolphins and we did not see one dolphin. Our captain was very friendly and apologetic about not being able to find the dolphins, but the people that run the place wouldn't give us at least a partial refund. They shouldn't advertise what they can't guarantee.
Our family of three really enjoyed the trip! We did the 4:30 trip with Capt. Mike and he was wonderful. We saw lots of dolphins and even had one come right up to the boat and say hi to us. Great Photo! My daughter even got to swim very close to them. He did warn us about the jellies in the area and he was right tons of them and we were thankful he told us - who wants a jelly fish sting on vacation! YIKES - He took us to a great place to find shells on the island and even got into the water with us and shows us different creatures. We found tons of sand dollars, crabs, star fish etc. We even went over about 10 mins on our trip because we were having so much fun. We were only with one other family of three so it was very personal as opposed to the huge boats with 25 or more people on them. It was the best trip ever and our daughter loved it and wanted to go back today! We will certainly used Blue Dolphin again next year as it was the best money we spent in PCB this year!
Amazing!! Our little one loved it. We are already making plans to do it again! The prices are extremely reasonable and the crew is very polite. The Captain personally greets you and even helps you off the boat! We loved the trip and saw tons dolphins! Yes the glass bottom leaves a little to be desired but then again dolphin do not swim under the boat!!!! They have a/c and in august that is very nice. Its only 10.00 for adults and 5.00 for kiddos started at the age of 2 for the Dolphin Encounter Tours, all the rest that we have looked at charge for kids starting at 1 year. The Captain talks to you during the ride and gives you lots of information about the area and even adds in a few jokes. Overall it is well worth the money. Go try it!
We go on a Shell Island cruise most years while in PBC. This was our 2nd year in a row on Capt. Anderson III. Nice enough cruise, and Shell Island is totally worth going to visit! However, if the ship was NON SMOKING it would have been more enjoyable for most of us! Also, nothing can be seen through the glass bottom. Don't go if that is the reason for going. The $5 off coupons helped make it a better deal. We always get to see dolphins.
The boat was small and the "glass bottom" is really just a 6 inch strip along the bottom of the boat that you can barely see through. Most of the time the water is too merky to see anything, because the boat stirs up so much sand. Plus to see any thing you have to climb down a steep set of stairs. The island where they take you is pretty, but there is nothing there.
This was a great experiance. They did warn us that we may not see any animals but we did. Dolphins and eels, turtals, amaz. kinds of amimals. The guy doing to float by(talking about the water life) he threw out a net and came up with all kinds of stuff. crabs to sea horses, to star fish even a baby shark. it was amazing. (Just make sure you have not been drinking for 14 hours stright befor you go on)
