Pineapple Willy's, Panama City Beach

Went to Pineapple Willy's after several people told us it was a must-stop on our trip. The weather that day was beautfiul, so we sat on the pier, and let me tell you, that view is excellent. Simply gorgeous in nice weather. Our waitress was nice and informative, her recommendations on food did not disappoint. And although the food was delish, the drinks were even better! The only reason I didn't give this 5-stars is because the cost of our meal could have fill the tank of our car, twice...no joke, it's down-right BRUTAL! Next time, I don't think I'll come back unless I have a coupon, or unless I have one drink and no food OR an appetizer and glass of water.

Food was great! Ribs are in a sand bucket. Atmosphere was awesome, loved eating outside.

On our vacation from Nc, My husband and I were already on the beach, so it was very convenient to come in from the beach to grab lunch, but..... that was about it, not alot to choose from on the menu and prices were really over the top. Chicken basket had small hard chicken nuggets, and fries but any side dish was extra money, Do not recommend, to anyone unless you got money to throw away.

Too Pricey for so little to choose from. Even the kids pay up to 6-10$ for sub-par frozen food. Outside is nice , Good place for TV and view..This place was an outstanding restaurant 3-5 years ago...Quality on most food was outstanding..Now they still have Ribs mmm !! Nothing but nostalgia now..If you want to eat shirts, they are very stocked 100's of these..all a little different from the last ?? Even a discount on a few. Other than Ribs( pricey but good ) this place needs a menu over-haul a real menu, it seems as if an interior decorator runs this place now. OH ..well ! so MUCH FOR WHAT WAS.. Angelo's around the corner is still a great restaurant consistantly. They are pricey but aren't frozen and they have much more to choose from meat and veg. not cotton with a bill. Don't get me wrong..Pineapples was #1 in Quality, and my favorite,once.. They must have sold it. It is sadly different, now. Are the previous owners gone ?? Anyone?? I can't believe it's the same place !!

My wife and I went with another couple to enjoy some local dining. The first think I notice was that it had a live band in the bar area and had a great view of the ocean with its outside dining. There was also a t-shirt shack that sold anything to your desire that pertained to pineapple willy’s which was nice. Then after our 45 minute wait which was expected on a Friday night we were shown to our table in a room that we didn’t know even existed that looked to be a newly built extension to the restaurant. What I then seen was a bare wall except for the huge plasma screen TV and that was it. It seemed the atmosphere lacked in this part and I was transformed to a nice building that had no character or any common alliance with what I seen outside. Are waitress was average not great but fair she did what she could but she was real busy. Two of us ordered the shrimp basket one the chicken basket and the other peel them and eat them shrimp. The food came out to us looking exactly what I could have got if I went to Wal-Mart and bought chicken strips, shrimp, and fries from the frozen food section and cooked it myself. I was not impressed especially with the 12 dollar a plate price for each and the 4.00 beer. Everything on the menu seemed over priced and did not have the taste you would expect from a local hot spot as this. I would only go here if I was to drink beer and visit with friends. I would never recommend to any of my friends or anyone I know to eat here. STAY AWAY.

Sat at the bar for awhile and decided to stick around for the band. As I was going to use the rest room (outside) I ask if I needed my hand stamped by the girl (with attitude) at the door. She said "you have to pay a $5.00 cover charge". Now we had been sitting there for a good while and there was no way I was going to pay to get back in. I was never in a place that charged you when you are already there for over an hour! Had I just arrived I would have no problem giving them the $10. for both of us. It's really not about the money I mean come on it's only $10! Also would have been nice to be told happy hour was ending so we could have got another. Too many places to go to be treated like that. You can have it.

There was not much I didn't like about this place. I like the fact that they have frozen, fruity drinks.My favorite thing is at night they have live music.

The food was mediocre at best, but the portions where big. The fried shimp are more like fried dough (I would avoid them). The wait is usually really long, but the outside seating is nice and you can wait on the beach. If you don't eat RIBS, then there's NO BBQ for you.

I really like this place a lot. We are going to Panama City in a few months, and will be going to eat there for sure! And we will be back every time we visit Panama City.

I loved Pineapple Willy's! It is right on the beach, beautiful scenery. Nice people, even better fish. can't wait to go back! its a good place for the whole family, good kids menu.
