Opened in 1962, the Dodger Stadium seats 56,000 sports fans, has 16,000 parking spots available, and the total area covers 300 acres. 'Sports Illustrated' named it the best baseball stadium, and even the players themselves say it has one of the best-quality playing fields. The stadium has also hosted non-sporting events such as a mass held by Pope John Paul II, and concerts by Michael Jackson, The Beatles, U2, Elton John, The Bee Gees, and Dave Matthews Band amongst many others.
I liked the neato early 1960s styling, which I've always admired. The stadium is very well-maintained, and the parking is not too expensive ($10.00). Also, tickets start at only $6.00, but these go quickly. The fans are really into the games. They chant, "Let's go Dodgers!" continuously.
I did not like the extreme heat (day game)and the location (unsafe and lenghty to walk to). The atmosphere was very hazy around there, so it was difficult to see any scenery.
I'll rate Dodger Stadium a B. The team obviously works hard to keep the place going and kept up. All MLB fans must visit this classic venue.
