Like its name, the Majestic Theatre is one of the largest theatres in New York (more than 1600 seats) with a long-running reputation for having exceptional plays and musicals. The theatre is a venue for such shows as Phantom of the Opera.
The Majestic is one of the older theaters however it was still beautiful. The seats were a little crowded but the show was wonderful. This was my third time seeing it and I wanted my family to see it with me. they all loved it.
5th time....fiance's first bway show I thought it would b edgy enough 2 get him interested.....people behind the scenes complaining about how many times they have scene it, on cells, laptop,,,,,,was pathetic.....disappointing.....not what I saw in same theater in past.....not only that, box office had my name wrong for $260.00 tix, man was rude, it is clear that this show is NO longer what it was.........great for main characters.....but not what I have seen in past...........not worth the money..
My wife and I had Orchestra seats like in the 8th row directly in the middle of the Auditorium, I believe they were the best seats in the theatre, even better than the boxes. The music just riveted you to your seats and vibrated through the core of our being. The Phantom of the Opera brings out the genius in Andrew Llyod Webber and is a masterpiece. It is such a moving beautiful work that stirs the heart and exudes passion and should motivate anyone who is entranced by the exceptional depth and class of this work to go out and love better, and live larger and show compassion to all. I think of the hard rock cafe slogan, "love all, serve all." The venue is beautiful. Right in the theatre district, easy to find, clean, very nice.
There were people there to help you find your seats and it was comfortable and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Its amazing how you can sit for an hour and a half with your body glued to the stage as if it were 10 minutes.
It was $100 a ticket but well worth every cent! Well done Majestic, New York City!
We went with a large group to see Phantom of the Opera and the Theater was accomodating and the atmosphere was perfect. We felt like we were part of the The Phantom of the Opera. We can't wait to go see it again!
The Phantom of the Opera was magnificent! The Majestic Theatre was very beautiful and ornate and it was like stepping back in time. The performers all did a superb job and I would definately go again. The costumes and stage sets were outstanding.
As a Native New Yorker, I have watched many, many broadway shows. By far, this is the best. Up to date, I have watched Phantom of the Opera 9 times. It just gets better and better each time. The theatre and the singers are just phenomenal. Pricing is expensive, but it's worth it!
I liked the fact that coming from a mid-size Pennsylvania town the employees working there were very cordial and directed you right to your seat with ease. I would return tomorrow and the next day!
Phantom of the Opera was more than I ever expected on Broadway. I was in awe.
Beautiful theatre and people.
We bought discount tickets for Phantom and ended up sitting under the mezzanine at the Majestic. The messanine obscured our vision so that whenever anything went on at the top of the stage we were forced to crouch down in our seats to see it.
The microphone system wasn't very good, the only person we could hear was the Phantom.
Hugh Panaro had a wonderful voice! Definently would go back to see the show with better seats!
I saw phantom of the opera there and wow!! The atmosphere was full of curiosity, love, mystery, and sheer amazement. The singing is so beautiful it will take your breathe away. You will catch yourself singing the songs which you have heard in the play. It seems to bring you back in time in which the play was made in Paris. I def. recommend this beautiful top of the line play, and the theatre is wonderful. Not to big, not to small- it is jus right! Since I have seen this play, I have been wanting to major in Arts and Theatre. I give it high ratings.
