They had two mother horses with their babies in a small area. They were visibly very sick and emaciated, trying to eat out of an empty trough. When that didn't work, they resorted to eating their own feces.

We loved it and booked it by calling this guy robert 1-866-932-1881, we will go again next year because of the easy that things were done.

Loma Bonita Ranch came recommended from my travel agent in Mexico. We loved it! The horses were in good shape (although not well groomed) and well behaved. The ride was 2 hours at a walk, single file. I am an experienced rider and would have been bored if the guides hadn't been so entertaining! They ran back and forth, taking pictures for us and joking around. We paid an extra $10 to gallop on the beach...they stress that you really need to know how to ride for them to let you gallop. (The gallop was short but fun!) Finally, they untacked about 5 horses and let people ride them bareback into the water for a swim. It was a great experience. Bring your camera!

My first time on an ATV was September 2005 at the ranch. My husband & I had so much fun we bought ATVs when we got home. We went back just last week with a couple of friends and had a blast. Being more experienced this time we were moved up to behind the guide and got to go a lot faster. No one got hurt on either of our trips and this is one excursion we will do every time we visit Mexico. The food is quite light but edible. We didn't go for the food. The guides are great and have a great sense of humor.

I highly recommend any/all of the activities at Rancho Loma Bonita, you will be guided on horse back, Segway, wave runners or ATV`S by thoughtful, competent staff and be outfitted with quality, up-to-date safety equipment. Prices are quite reasonable and the operation, in my opinion, is the best ot its kind in the all of the Caribbean or Mexico

Hi I found the ride great but it depends on the horse u get. some are really skinny and so not very pleasent to ride. The beach is nice and swimming in the water is amazing but can be tricky for someone who cnt ride. As a professional i had no probs when my horse reared up in the water but if u cnt ride then ask for a gentle horse. I find the place quite nice and if u bring carrots or apples for the horses they wud be really greatful lol since they dont eat em every day lol. its a nice experience

We scheduled the ride through orbitz and were not sure what to expect. The guides were patient even with the experienced riders who sometimes can be more challenging than the inexperienced. :-) I loved the gallop as well as the swimming. A dream come true for me. My only suggestions would be () to ask riders to bring boots. Three people were kicked as they didn't know to keep their horses noses out of the tail in front of them and boots would have reduced injury. Plus owning my own horses I know it's very dangerous to ride with out boots. 2) Offer a full day package!!!! I certainly would buy it. We'll definitely be back!!

We have been to Cancun three times since the year 2004 and have gone ATV riding here everytime...The first time we went was awesome, we had enough time to ride around, relax at the beach...for the extremists, they would take them separately and let me go do there thing and ride around fast, and for those of us who want to go slow, we could do that. We got a good lunch after everything was done. However the last time we went the tour was noticeable shorter, we all had to follow each other in a straight line and if someone got stuck or etc we would all hae to stop and wait. We had a lot of people who tried to mess around and we had to stop everytime for them...also the food was not that good at the end and they used to take the ATV riders further away from the horseback riders on the beach, but now they dont and we waded in the water and noticed there was horse poop everywhere! it was disgusting!

My 8 year old daughther loved this place. We both had never been on horses before and the guides took great care of us. My horse wanted to be in front and my daughter's was all the way in the back - I was a bit worried. One of the two guides stayed with her the whole time and the other kept me informed on how she was doing. That took a load off my mind!! The path was interesting and the beach was beautiful. We did not swim with horses, but we had fun playing in the sand together. My daughter loved her horse (Hurricane) and constantly talks about it. It was a great experience.

My fiance and I went to Mexico in May '06, for his mothers wedding, along with about 28 other people. We spent alot of time with the group so we decided to go horse back ridng together. We were very happy that we did this. Not knowing what time the rides started we arrived at the ranch early. There was a nice pool that we swam in. We also had a snack and soda that was okay. All of the workers were very nice. Our guide paired us up good with the horses. I rode one named Mr. T, he was a lot of fun. All of the guides were great, they made everyone laugh and have a good time. We can't wait to go back in September for our Honeymoon!
