Captain's Cove, Cancun

We did not know anything about this restaurant until we went there.But was pretty good and we really enjoyed the food. Will go back again.

we recently spent our 47th wedding anniversary dinner at captain's cove. we have dined here since 1986. the ambiance has improved since the rebuild after the hurricane. the view and setting are are as good as any in cancun. the prices are average for this type of restaurant. the quality of the food has declined over the years to average. our recent meal was overcooked and seem to have been cooked earlier and reheated. the service was not as friendly as in the past and the meal was served rather abruptly. we did have a great view from the deck as the sun was setting. we will return to captains cove not for the food or service but for the ambiance and the memories acquired over 24 years. the great breakfast buffet has been discontinued.

we loved captain's cove and the special waiter, limbert made our visit exceptional. we cancelled other reservations to go back. wonderful food, view and staff. a must to revisit on our next trip to cancun. the briggs family june, 2009

Service: excellent(Thanks to Romeo & Celeriano!). Fish: Went there 3 times in our last trip. I had a different fish every time, and each time the fish tasted freshly boated and was prepared perfectly. I'm a seafood fan and am from the NYC area, but these were the most sensitively done dishes I've had in a long time. The chef and the staff worked together to have the plate in front of me at the exact right time. This was only our second time in Cancun, but by far the best dining. Also, our daughter loved the crocodile!

This will be our 6th year coming to Cancun. We love the Captain Cove. The food is just right. The view well if you have been here you will know what I'm talkin about.It's got it all.

We were very disappointed with Captain's Cove. We had gotten recommendations and good reviews, but it didn't measure up. The service and atmosphere were good, but the food was not. The crab stuffed shrimp was overcooked with plain side items. The salmon was boring. Many other fabulous places to eat in Cancun. Why waste your time with average?!

In a town of bland, expensive restaurants, Captain's Cove is a wonderful exception to the rule. You can't get any better food or price at any restaurant in the area: for USD $10/person you can get a great breakfast buffet where they make fresh omelets and waffles and you can choose from much fresh fruit and juice, hot Mexican entrees, breads/pastries and cereal if somehow nothing else sounds better...coffee is also included. My friend and I went for brunch every day and didn't eat again until dinner, except the day we left and then we went for lunch--fantastic chicken fajitas. Highly, highly recommend going.

great place!!!! we loved it I was 5 month pregnant and they treated me like a queen. we are going again in august and we will be back

Captain's Cove is a great Cancun restaurant. The food and service are excellent with a beautiful view of the water on the lagoon side. My wife and I have been here more than 20 times and we have never left disappointed. Watching the sun set while enjoying Happy Hour (4-7 PM) from the open deck is a favorite time for my wife and me. Waitresses will bring you free chips and salsa if you just ask. If you're happy and friendly, they will see to it that your margaritas are very strong. This is definitely one Cancun restaurant you should visit when in Cancun. And make sure you ask your waiter to let you know when Pancho arrives.

My family has been to Cancun many times, and one trip, we ate here every meal! They had an excellent breakfast buffet and their dinners were phenomenal! The waiters are like your best friends when you arrive also. The atmosphere is amazing! Being right on the lagoon was gorgeous!
