Happy Mexican Restaurante and Cantina
The Happy Mexican Restaurant & Cantina is Memphis' premier Mexican restaurant. The Happy Mexican opened in February 2006, and offers a wide array of authentic Mexican menu selections to our guests. We utilize our many years of experience to serve the best margaritas in town, as well as out-of-this-world freshly prepared fajitas
Went to the new one on Winchester for the third and last time..Margaritas seem and appear to be premade and the advertised special Sunday price is 7.99 and after tax is 9.94 (appx 25% tax)..A lot for premade..The service was fair to good and the food is barely ok..The whole package on a scale of 1 - 10 was a 4 at most..
Worst Food Ever! Never Go There Please!
(I am talking about the Happy Mexican in East Memphis!).
The restaurant is Picturesque and the Waitress was nice and kind but that was about it.
The food was cold, I orderer the chile relleno and a burrito, the chile smelled terribly and the beans looked bad like a greyish color.
I first asked them to reheat it, but it still was awfully cold after they brought it for the second time.
I tried to eat it but I could not stand the smell (The cheese smelled like mold because I think they kept it in the fridge, after they opened the bag, for weeks and weeks!) and I almost threw up after a small bite.
Please do not go there. It was the worst experience that I had at a restaurant ever in my life and I go to restaurants very often. Save your hard earned money!
My Boyfriend and I went there to eat and boy did we have problems. When we went there, it was a slow day, but the we could have sworn the servers seemed as though they were busy..busy gossiping! We have previously been there, and their food had been pretty good, but this past time we went, his food was burnt, and when I say burnt I mean it was hard has a rock and could have broken his tooth. We complained to the waiter and he either didn't seem to understand, I am not sure if it was a language barrier issue or if he was playing dumb. Not to mention I was sucking on ice for half of the time there because he never filled my drink up...horrible service, if your lucky you will get good food..
