At one point this was one of my favorite restaurants. However, one (really) bad experience can certainly change things. I will NEVER go back.
We went to celebrate my son's high school graduation and had a fairly large group (12). We waited over 30 minutes just to get water. That set the service tone for the evening. The waitress was rude to the point of being obnoxious. She actually chased my 80-year-old mother out of the place accusing us of skipping. She had actually dropped the signed credit receipt when she picked it up from the table. One of the bus people found it while we were standing there being embarrassed by her.
The food was only acceptable when in the past it had been outstanding. It was a very disappointing experience.
Service was acceptable and wait was minimal. However, I was part of an eight-party group, and the general consensus was that the food was generic and rather bland tasting. I would recommend going up the road to Stonefire.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Great ambiance, great food, nice service. You can't complain about the wait, it happens anywhere that is worth going to! Great steak, excellent fish. Their specials are always excellent, but need to change them up more often. I have been here several times and have never had a bad experience. My one and ONLY complaint is that their martini's need to be colder.
This was a bit of a drive for a resident of North Plainfield, but I definitely enjoyed it. The food was excellent and I really liked the setup inside the place.
I was able to pick up a coupon from www.TheLocalLister.com that gave me $10 off any purchase of $35 or more. Saved a little bit of money!
I gave this place 3 chances to impress me for the cost and again it failed. Just a heads up , if you serve an appitizer for a table of 2 , there should be an even amount of items on the plate. 3 pieces of brushetta for 2 people is dumb. why not 4 , or even 2 ? dumb.. The food here is mediocre at best. The signature NY strip isnt very impressive , and the Chicken Marsala is served way wrong . Its a no no to put your pasta in the marsala sauce , thats a chef 101 no brainer. Marsala breaks down the noodle and gives it a terrible texture. If you take leftovers home its even worse. I think this place is just poorly run , the menu creativity looks great on paper but falls way short of satisfaction for the price.
The evening started with a 25 minute wait despite making a reservation. The only booths were in the smoking section and were available on a first come basis. After being seated, it was ten or more minutes before we saw anyone from the wait staff. A waitress stopped as an afterthought and took our order. My wife and I were disappointed with the small portions of thier overpriced appetizers. To thier credit, the food was good. However, it was not that good that it would warrant another visit or a reccommendation to friends or family.
We went to Blackstone on a Saturday night with no reservations and were able to get a table in about 30 minutes. Just enough time for a relaxing drink at the bar. The place was very busy but everything moved very efficiently. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, Our dinner was delivered promptly and was great. Our server was attentive without being annoying.
We highly recommend the Blackstone
