Love it! My mom used to serve me Spam as a kid...I hated it then. But...a long time ago, I tried Spam Musubi at the E Hula Mau. I fell in love with it. Lo and Behold! Ono's serves it. That and the Crab Langoons...such crispy, crabby, cheesy goodness. My arteries are crying just thinking of it! LOL! Try it, you might like it. Good BBQ chicken and mahi-mahi as well.
There's L&L and then there's Ono. Being a Native Hawaiian presently living in Southern Cali I've tried them both. In Hawaii L&L is popular with the locals and they have long since franchised out here to the mainland. Let's refer to Ono as the new kid on the Hawaiian BBQ block. I don't believe there is an Ono Hawaiian BBQ in Hawaii. Not yet anyway. Ono means (yummy/good) in Hawaiian. Ono is just that. It's not an L&L wannabe. Ono stands on their own two feet. I've been to several Ono locations and noticed that the employees are highly trained in keeping their restaurants very clean. The food is very good (ono). The portions are big. I recommend the mini for lunch or dinner. The regular plate is almost enough for two. Very generous helpings and the food is always hot and fresh. This is by far my most favorite place to have lunch. The best place to eat for the money. No matter what you order from the menu....it's gonna be very ONO.
the platters are sufficient considering the cost...very flavorable kelbi/ bbq ribs and teriyaki chicken...I suggest the mini plates if it's your first time...even the bed of cabbage is tasty...I truly enjoyed the Hawaiin music in the background!!
