Broadway Dinner, Baltimore

I made a trip up to Baltimore, Md to take care of some business and decided to eat at this establishment based on being a fan of DDD. I was very unhappy with the quality of service along with the very plain taste of food. The waiter was unfriendly considering we had a table of four you would think he would want to charm us for a decent tip. I generally tip 20% or greater based on service. The small cup of mayonaise that was served to my lady had a small hair in it which she did not notice until after putting it on 1/2 of her sandwich. I informed the waiter and he was not bothered by it and just brought another cup of mayo. The crab soup was luke warm and when asked another waiter for our waiter, he informed us he was having trouble finding our waiter. Perhaps he was outside having a cigarette? As I said before out of the four of us that dined, only one person was satisfied with the taste of the food for the price, we all purchased a different item from the menu. I would have thought with the hair in the mayo, luke warm soup and overall customer service a manager would have came to the table, but did not. Upon receivng the bill, their was a 15% gratuity automatically added. Perhaps this is why we received poor waiter service, knowing he would automatically receive 15%. When checking out at the cash register I informed a belligerant young lady of the problems with the food and poor waiter service. The attitude was oh well you took 1/2 the sandwich with you so we will not refund for that persons meal. After going back and forth with another unfriendly manager, she said you could receive 1/2 off that one persons meal. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone, not worth the headache and the food sucked.

unlike most of these diners the quantity of food served was about right,the flavor was mediocre,i never have had to cut scrapple with a knife before,the wait staff was efficient and attentive,the problem came in when presented with the check,we found we were being charged with a gratuity of 15 percent,i don't feel we should be forced to pay this charge the cashier called the police and threatened us with arrest,telling us it was the diners law and was extremely rude and arrogant,good service awards should be up the customer not to the diner,for these reasons i will never be a customer of this or any of these diners again.

Ol Reliable - the best place for anything anytime!!! Try their Italian Nights. Did I mention they even have alcohol if your in the mood. One of my wifes favorites and she would go there everyday if she could.

Great place to get food late night. Fast service even when it was slammed. Service was alright, but I don't expect much at 2 am when everyone is wasted.

Normally the staff is friendly and attentive. On this particular day the waitress said hello and gave us our menus. She came back about 10 min later, food didn't take long at all. She never came back to check on us. It wasn't busy. My mother notice on the table mat that is an 15% automatically add to your bill. We felt that she didn't deserve it. We talked to the manager he was short and not apologetic at all. He did nothing to make us say that we would return.

I say try it your sure to fall in love with the food. and the service is great. I recommend the jambalaya if you love spicy foods.

I love the Broadway Diner. If you want to try a great dish, try the shrimp alla montese. It's absolutely delicious!! The bathrooms are clean, and that's a great sign. I love clean bathrooms in a restaurant, it says a lot about the staff. Keep up the good work Broadway Diner!!!

Broadway Diner may look like something you wouldn't rarely stop in and enjoy, but I was surprised how good my experience with this restaurant was. The dish I would recommend for pasta lovers would be the chicken tortelini dish...
