This is by far my favorite course in the area. Each hole you basically have to make the smart play. You cant just take out driver and hope that everything will work out. You have to think your way through the course. My favorite hole is the 10th when the tees are up front because it gives me a chance to drive the green. The par 5's are tough because it is nearly impossible to be putting for eagle. I usually play here every weekend and the course still beats me up. Some good advice is to bring a lot of golf balls and swallow your pride and lay up. On my way up to Milton from work in Massachusetts I will stop in for a quick dinner at the restaurant. The food is very good. All of the staff are great from the bartenders, to the shop workers and the grounds crew. If I have the choice I play at the Oaks instead of the Links at Outlook, which I also love to play, and I'd play it before almost any courses in Maine. Just so you get an idea I have played the Links, Cape Neddick, Cape Arundel, Sanford CC, The Old Marsh in Wells, Nippo Lake, Indian Mound and The Ledges and my favorite is still the Oaks. Last summer I must have played about 25 rounds at the Oaks and like maybe 5 rounds at the other courses I listed. Also the Sunday morning brunch is very good in the event center. I'd suggest getting there close to 9 bcause its very crowded after 9:00. Many times I have gone to the brunch then played 18 walking. The walk isn't too bad. Fairly easy if you keep your ball in the fairways.
Absolute perfect wedding reception, couldn't have been better. April, the coordinator, is a detailed perfectionist to say the least, and such a pleasure to interact with--a true professional. From the very first meeting I felt like our reception was in the best hands. If you're thinking of having your wedding reception at The Oaks, take it from me that it's the best choice in the area--I could go into so much more detail but figure I'll probably bore readers, so I'll just say this: A month later we're still getting comments from family and friends on how beautiful the venue is and how great the food was!
very nice course.staff was very friendly.course lay out was very pleasing to the eye.greens were fast and true even after all the rain we had lately(15 inches in few days).thinking mans golf course which explained why i played so poorly.slope is b.s,123 from the blues played tougher then that.lots of hazards everywhere.sand traps were a mess, not enough sand in them and the club would bounce too much.i think the rain had something to do with that(maybe)will diffinitly play it again
