I am from Pakistan and was visiting my sister in Ann arbor,I went to noodles and company of Washtenaw uncountable times because of the perfect taste and also would like to add that the staff is very friendly and had a great experience ...even though have tried so many elite restaurants but haven't found a great friendly and co operative staff before...Keep up the good work and Wish you all the success.
I've never had a problem myself, but the food isn't very grand either. For noodles it is 4 star for sure, I prefer the Penne Rosa, which has always been quite good there.
I don't like the no tipping policy, just a personal preference.
Yah - No. It's not the best. I've been twice now and had the trio entree, Penne Rosa with chicken & side salad, both times. First time the penne was really dry so second time I ordered some extra sauce for which I was charged $1.00, then I didn't get it with the order, had to go ask for it, and when they brought it two minutes later, it was about 2 tablespoons of spicy spaghetti sauce. And the ceasar salad was really very skimpy - maybe a half cup of lettuce leaves plopped in the middle of too big of a bowl...it's gets pricey when you start adding up the extras... I like COSI much better and it's right across the street so that's where i'll spend my steadily decreasing disposable dollars next time....
I have tried many of the dishes and have found nothing wrong with any of them. You can choose from three areas. The Mediterranian, Asian, and American. This is a great place for a person on a budget. You can eat for under ten dollars for the basic pasta dish with out any add ons. There are many wonderful choices for add ons. Including seculant steak.
While doing my Christmas shopping, I saw the storefront for Noodles & Company in Arborland. Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to pop in and see what they had to offer. The place is rather basic, but I have always been of the opinion that is you have good food and give good service, you don't have to be trendy and glitzy. consider what time of day it was the place was rather busy, but after studying the menu and the options for the noodle dishes they serve, it was worth the wait.
They serve an internationally-based menu of various soups, noodle dishes and salads, with a nice little selections of options to personalize your order. I took a few minutes of peruse the bill of fare, but once I saw the mushroom stroganoff with miitake mushrooms in a sherry cream, I knew what I wanted. After placing my order (with thin-sliced beef), I was given a numbered sign and asked to take a seat and place the sign on my table. Simple, yet effective. Several minutes later, I was given a huge bowl of wonderful-smelling stroganoff and let me tell you, it tasted better than it smelled. That was quite possibly the best stroganoff I have ever had in my life.
A lot of restaurants could take a few pointers from this place. The design of and the art in the place were fairly basic, with rather intriguing photographs of marketplaces throughout the world lining the walls. Again, it was subtle, but the majority of people who come to restaurants do go there more for the food and less for the ambiance, and its something of a shame that some of the more popular restaurnt chains have lost sight of this fact somewhat. Some in my opinion go the other way in that they try to hide the fact that they have strictly average food with a myriad of things to catch the eye.
To summarize, this is an excellent place to eat and relax for a little bit before charging right back out to do more shopping, take in a movie, go out to a club, or what have you. I highly recommend this place.
