BEWARE: FLIES IN FOOD!!!! This was my first time at Soong Thai, I thought I would try it since friends stated that the food was pretty good. I went during lunch time with my child. I ordered the crab ragoons, which were ok. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken which came with chicken soup and an egg roll. As I was eating the chicken soup and feeding it to my child I noticed that there was a bug in the soup. It was a fly!!! I informed the waitress. And she stated: oh well it s only a fly, would you like more soup? I was astonished by the respond and stated NO!!! I told her we were leaving and she stated that the Pad Thai was coming out and that they will still charge me for the Pad Thai since they made it already. I was extremely upset and asked her if there were going to be bugs in it. And she laughed. I asked for the owners name and number and informed her if my son gets sick I will be calling my attorney. FYI: FLIES ARE THE DIRTIEST BUGS AS THEY CARRY MANY BACTERIAS!!!! The owner called me and he was EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! He also stated that what his employees did was good judgment call. Are you Serious???? That will be the last time I ever go there, I prefer paying more money and going to Ayothaya Thai Cuisine on Sand Lake.
The food is fantastic. I wish the restaurant was closer to Windermere or Winter Garden but they have the BEST RED CURRY I have ever had. I usually get take out because I don t like eating in the smaller restaurants but I crave their Curry. I have tried others so many other places and they are just can t compare.
An OK Thai restaurant, not at all as represented by the majority of reviews here. Have tried Thai restaurants all over Florida, from the West Coast, Mid Atlantic, and the Mid South. Nothing sets this restaurant apart. Too small, too dark, average food, not bad though.
This is a really nice restaurant... the food was great and fresh. I do not eat pork or beef and the waitress made me vegetable soup/ The food was wonderful, do try the sweet tea.... I love this place... pretty close to New York City cuisine.
No way!: After reading the other reviews I was excited to try this restaurant. The comments that say you won't be disappointed.. I must say I was very disappointed. Their pad thai was the worst I've had - in fact it's one step up (if even) from what you buy in a box at the supermarket. The spring rolls were even worse - seem like they were frozen and fried - bleh. There are a lot of restaurants that have the same prices and are far better. I will not return.
Try Thai Jasmine & Sushi House in Tavares - best Thai food I've had in this area!
You will not regret a visit to Soong Thai. They have incredible food and a very inviting and well decorated restaurant. The staff is also very nice. Best dishes include their Spring Rolls, Pad Thai and Chicken Red Curry. I'm a regular and usually order the same thing. I'm sure the rest of the menu is just as delicious. If you can't sit and eat there, you can always take out. Either way you will keep going back to this place. I've been hooked for over a year now!
This restaurant has been one of my haunts for the past two years. They have a pleasant atmosphere, decorated with traditional Thai motifs. The food is great, and the service is very good. Prices are on the higher side, but you will get what you pay for, so do try it out, you will not regret it.
