I WAS a frequent customer of Ihop for several years. However, after time and again of poor service and a drunk manager by the name of Amy something or another, I , nor will my family and friends EVER return. I have witnessed AMY sleeping propped up against a wall while the wait staff attempts to frantically keep service going. It is to my understanding that AMY is the daughter of the franchise owners.....Perhaps IHOP_ should be more selecrtive of who is managing their restaurants despite the fact they are the franchise owners offspring......I would not not want this type of reflection on my franchise.....
I just took myself as well as my 4 year old daughter and 6 year old son to the ihop on airport road.My mother works there so I asked that we be seated in her area.There were 2 boys standing by the order screens that work there talking about the way that I was dressed and that I was too large to be wearing what I had on which was a simple tank top with jeans and flip flops (no big deal) so I thought. I was descriminated against by these boys and it ruined my meal for me.I pay mom for the ticket then leave.I got to the car and called the manager on duty to explain the situation.She said that she was going to speak with the boys and return my call(has not happened yet) TO TOP IT ALL OFF THE MANAGER PULLS MY MOTHER;S CASH DRAWER TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING GIVEN TO ME FREE.i PAID IN CASH FOR EVERYTHING THAT WE HAD AND AM VERY INSULTED AS WELL AS ANGRY.I WILL NOT GO BACK HERE AND PLAN ON CONTACTING CORPORATE -I WAS DESCRIMINATED AGAINST AND WILL NOT TOLERATE IT AT ALL. IHOP IS OFFICIALLY OFF OF MY LIST OF CHOICES,
Talk about cutting back I ordered the breakfast that gave 3 strips of bacon I only received 2 and the waitress kept whizzing by smoozing up to the regular customers. My grandson and his parents live going to that IHOP I so too when I come to visit I don;t know if I will return.

When visiting your restaurant last night, located at 229 Airport Road, Arden NC, my family was VERY unsatisfied with the lack of service offered to us. We were not greeted upon entering the restaurant. After waiting over ten minutes and still no one had greeted or seated us I had to walk behind the counter and ask to be seated. Once seated we waited another 15 minutes and our waiter still had not approached the table, spoken to us once or acknowledged our wait. I would have understood had he been extra busy, which there was hardly anyone in his section, but he could have at least taken our drink order or apologized for our wait. I have worked as a waitress and in retail many years in the past and I found this VERY rude. You always greet customers when they enter your restaurant or store. Customers should be number one, they are the reason your business is there and the reason you stay open. Because of the lack of service we left and did not give our business to I-Hop. Upon leaving a member of our party approached our waiter and told him why we were leaving, he never apologized, she looked at her. What kind of people do you have representing your business? Because of the way we were treated last night we will no longer give an I-Hop restaurant our business, and not just in Asheville but anywhere that we travel. The people working at your I-Hop restaurant represent a franchise and they are giving the entire company a bad name. Never the less we will spread the word about this bad service to hopefully warn others of your bad customer service skills.
I wish you the best of luck in fixing this problem so that others will not walk out like we did.
