Located next to the budget-priced Hilo Seaside Hotel along Banyan Drive, this restaurant is the perfect spot for hotel guests to grab a quick and casual meal. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this eatery focuses on largely-portioned breakfasts, local favorites like Portuguese Bean Soup, great island grass-fed beef, and for those who prefer something lighter, a sweeping salad bar. Parking is free and always available at the hotel lot and the service is on island time. You won't find umbrella drinks or lush tropical ambiance here, just beer and wine, the casual local ambiance and unique island selections.
What I didnt like.... WHOO HOO the prices! Well that shocked me and almost had me running back to the car and going some where else where I knew I would get my money's worth. But we went for it anyways. I had the steak (over cooked) and my hubby had the pork chop (didnt notice there was no 's on the chop part) it was stuffed, more stuffing then there was pork. The salad bar was part of our dinner. Where all of the greens would be I found there was 90% more cabbage then lettuce.
Would I go back again? If someone else paid for it yes. Other wise, I doubt it.
we went there for mother day ,what a joke. first- there was no plates, second no cups, third no knifes, forth no salt and pepper.we had to wait for plates...then when we got plates we started on the line no rice we had to wait, got rice no bacon had to wait for bacon, no waffles had to wait.....ok got to the table ask for water and juice or coffee,we had five on our table....waitress brings 3 waters she says they ran out of glasses.we waited over ten minutes for water.we had roast beef no knife they ran out.finally she brings 1 coffee we had to ask and ask for 1 more when she does bring the salt and pepper she only brings one set and tells us if we can share with the next table.then we couldnt take it no more and ask for the check....153.00...WOW.......
