A favorite. My family and I eat here whenever we want good Mexican food, fresh tortillas and a cerveza or margarita. I was bummed out when they closed the restaurant on Alhambra then on 6th & J. This spot works just fine. Try a little bean dip with the chips and salsa.
My finance and I really love Luis Jr's mexican restaurant! We are just getting read to go there in a few minutes. I get the Chili Riano and she always orders the chicken and cheese burrito (both dinner plates). The food there is just excellent!! Try it out...
I am angry. I went there for soup and salad. Sounds pretty simple...not. The dressing on the most unremarkable bed of iceburg lettuce I've ever seen was the cheapest BOTTLED supermarket crap you can buy. I asked if there were any others that weren't from a bottle. No. I go to a restaurant so as to NOT have cheap bottled crap on my salad!! The soup was bland, as was the salsa that came with the chips. I can't believe what a waste of money my lunch was today. I was kicking myself for not heating up a can of campbell's instead. What a piece of junk restaurant.
Luis' Jr. is reopened on 29th & J st in the old Quizno's location. Same good food. Went for lunch today and the place was packed. Bring your patience while they get up and running. I'm sure they will be busy for the next few weeks. Happy they are back open and in business.
Me and my cousins can't wait for the reopening so we can have Luis's BOMB pitchers of Strawberry Daiquiri's with our meal. I haven't ate at a good authentic Mexican restaurant since Luis's closed their doors. The Salsa, tortilla's, and Food are the best in Sacramento!!
Sacramento Bee has reported that they were having difficulty transitioning a former Quizno shop into a full fledged restaurant operation at the new location at 29th and J street in the Sutter Square Galleria. The latest word is the reopening is set for sometime in January 2010 unless they have further problems.
