Man, I love the gyros. I used to live in Kearney when I was still in grade school and I still miss going there. I wonder if Jim still works there. He was pretty old so he might not be. Either way service and food was great back in '96.
Dude, those gyros are the bomb!! I've lived in Seattle, Washington since 1997 and I've yet to eat a gyro as good as those at Nick's . . . and there are many places here that one can get gyros. I attended UNK from the early to mid 90s and used to eat here all the time. I have nothing but great memories of Nick's, I remember doing my laundry next door and scarfing on gyros and fries for a ridiculously low price. I lived in Kearney for almost a year after graduating and this was one place I continued to frequent and still do whenever I'm back there. I hope this place stays in business forever. DPS 03042010
Best gyros in the united states. I have tried gyros in Chicago, new York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix. None even come close to nicks gyros in little old Kearney Nebraska. Why? They make the pita bread fresh and they cook the gyro meat on the grill a while. It makes all the difference. Try the the meat and cheese pita or the gyro. You wil love it.
